Since its release earlier this month, God of War II has taken over the systems of countless PS2s, continuing Kratos' epic battle against the gods. Fans that tore through the adventure have been eager for any news related to the franchise. Well, yesterday, message boards around the web went wild with the discovery of a mysterious new website, islandofrhodes.org, which hosts a countdown set to expire in 19 days and Kratos' picture looming in the background. Speculation ran rampantly from the announcement of the PSP game to a promotional site for the European release and even the third title in the series. What could this page, which is clearly branded with PlayStation 2 logos and content, be, and how does it relate to the franchise ?

if you'd of looked on the website at the bottom it states PS2!:P

No PSP there buddy!:P...
Yea i know, however its not uncommon for viral marketing websites to link to a completely different subject and keep the main subject hidden. Since GOW2 has already come out and it's a wee bit early for GOW3 announcements i am guessing this has something to the psp version. i could be wrong though.....

Well it has the Playstation Logo which means it can be anything from a PSP Version to GOW 3. It has the Playstation 2 Logo also but that can be either to confuse the fans or because GOW is associated with the PS2.

Seems like the console ain't dying out yet!

I own a PS2 and am happy!

Think about the series, man! One of the bigger complaints about the sequel is that it is barely different from the first. Hardly any new gameplay mechanics or anything else new that is offered. By that reckoning, it would seem the only next step would be graphically on the PS3.
