Team,

I got my pc after getting a lot of inputs from this forum, This is the configuration.

AMD Phenom 2-X2-555 BE
Gigabyte 785GMT-USB3 -
OCZ 2GB DDR3 1333Mhz
LG DVD writer
Cooler master Eline 310
Dell 22" ST2210 LCD monitor
Wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse MM
FSp saga 2 400w
HDMI cable (Good one with gold coloured connectors

The problem that I have is whenever i Plug in the HDMI cable, The screen reduces to around 3/4th of the original size, I tried changing the resolution but that was at its max. However if the VGA cable is plugged, then the screen comes back to normal. Can someone help me with this please

did you try connecting it with any other HDMI cable ?

try it and tell if you are getting the same problem with another hdmi cable also or not

Thanks for your replies guys, I have not tried with any other cable as I only have one :-( i am getting the max resolution which is 1920*1080.

When connected through HDMI, open up catalyst centre and run the manual monitor detection test. Once done, calibrate the monitor to fillup the total screen space. Now try swapping your connectors and check if the problem persists.

Thank you for all the replies, I have connected through the HDMI cable and ran the manual monitor detection test . I have put the maximum resolution, Now the vertical and horizontal tabs on the monitor is grayed out, How will i fill up the total space?

Open the settings display of the monitor and toggle something called "overscan" on/off.

Same happened to me but that was a different monitor.

any particular reason you are using HDMI instead of D-Sub or DVI-D.?

You didn't mentioned about graphics cards hence i guess you are using onboard HDMI that this mobo is equipped with.

Try scaling option in display settings.
