I somehow think '1' must have been added later by the sender himself.. He sent you a scanned copy, right? It's not difficult to modify the scanned image.

I too noticed. In fact, may I add the entire insurance amount (14000/-) on the first receipt looks to have been added later. Notice the difference in ink between that amount and the other stuff on that receipt

It is very likely that the courier guy included the insurance amount as an after thought onto the receipts, and therefore wrote them on separately, and put in 14000 either intentionally or otherwise on the first one.
 
CONDITIONS OF SHIPPING SERVICES ARE SO SAD IN INDIA !

I AM ALSO A VICTIM OF THESE CHOR SHIPPING COMPANIES .

"I sold a orange san francisco on TE a couple of months ago and used ARAMEX (THINKING IT AS AN ELITE COURIER SERVICE)

The B @ $ 7 |_| |2 |] s took the battery, charger and usb cable away , and the phone was full of ink spots .

And me and seller having a tough time as findin battery for this rare phone is a pain in the a$$ .

Thier customer care just told me that they cannot do anything about it . plainly and simply refused to help me ."

!! SAY NO TO DTDC AND ARAMEX !!

PS: i am feeling really sorry about you man , mine was just the battery and charger , the turds took the whole phone from you inspite of insurance . unbelievable . :(

^^ Exactly my point...

And if it was added afterwards, it could not have been done by the DTDC personnel. The loss of the phone in transit is some entirely different issue.



But I don't think that the DTDC people would commit forgery right from the time of making the invoice just so that the phone could be stolen at a later stage of transit. It is too much of an elaborate plan...

Plus, the Amount 14,000/- seems darker than the other writing on the carbon copy... as if it was overwritten with a pen...



Theory: The phone was undervalued to save on shipping... It got lost... Trouble springs up!

Had the phone not been lost, there wouldn't have been this issue and the extra '1' on the invoice would have gone unnoticed.

I would advise everyone to stick to either TNT or BlueDart only for shipping out mobiles or expensive gadgets. BlueDart accepts electronics/mobiles if the packaging is done in front of their guy and they put a security stamp over it . There is no way at all a BlueDart or TNT parcel can be tampered with . Most importantly their rates are pretty reasonable for the kind of the service they provide (next business day guaranteed delivery for all Metros).

I recently got a iPhone 4 shipped from Mumbai to Ahmadabad for only 430 bucks and a Galaxy tab weighing 1kg for 550 bucks :). BlueDart is the way to go.

The charges were low on shipping coz,they declared the value less for the product..
Secondly when the product is lost in transit u can only claim the refund for the value you have declared,thats again a big risk..

Thats the only reason shipping is charged less via bluedart...
 
^^^That is exactly the situation with sender, saved insurance and courier charges(200 amount on insurance 2%) now is in big trouble, hence manipulation with the receipt.

Seems like it to me as well... Hope it gets sorted out amicably...

I too think that it is not just DTDC that is at fault here... Hope the Mods take a look into this.

Yes I do realize that they(BlueDart) dont insure the package for a very high value or at times don't insure at all but you will rarely/never find cases of theft or tampering with a company like BlueDart. They are very serious about their image . Infact they are so fast, I doubt anyone will get the time to tamper .:rofl: .The new Time Definite Delivery (TDD) service with money back guarantee is one an example .

@Revolution, absolutely right, because of these morons, people just fear to send anything via courier :@
 
I guess have to stop using DTDC now. Maybe this is the reason, flipkart has started their own courier service in few selected cities. they must be sick all this non-sense.

Personally, I tend to use either

* DHL

* Blue Dart

* TNT

* first flight

I had zero problems with all of the above. Touch Wood:D
 
I don't know why people do not use India post, cheap and best I'd say!

I haven't heard of any case of theft/loss by them, and they are decently fast as well. Out of the 12-13 times I've used India post, only once was something delayed beyond a week. I've had parcels reach within two days to Bangalore, and within three days to Odisha from Chandigarh. Also, they don't ask any questions and any declaration etc. and their tracking is also decent, better than DTDC.
 
its because india post employees have permanent job the so called sarkari naukri and only a fool wud risk his job for a theft and even if some one does that and leaves his job he wud be very easily traced , where he lives etc etc , coz they have complete info of all their employees not like the private courier that whoever comes whenever steal something and disappear

now a days whenever i send a parcel i tape it myself and sign it with my name all over the tape along the edges and also take a picture of the packed parcel before giving it to the courier people!

i may not be able to follow up the case with police as am too busy in studies for one of the toughest entrances of india(i was thinking of filing the fir but the bill that had the imei no is also stolen i think, and police affairs may not be suitable for a guy like me)
but i will threaten them for sure and atleast try to get the insurance money

stopped using Dtdc for a while now...and have heard all kinds of things about them...

but this case takes my opinion about them to a new low..

dude...bribe the cops if you need to(so that they pay more attention to your case)..but make sure u get ur streak back and the mo'fo responsible is punished.
 
just see the image and any one can make out that '1' is written later as 4000 is written slightly slant and 1 is straight

anyway thanks for enlightening me for my mistake ... i hardly chk the parcel when i receive it ... did it only once when i received my laptop through aramax and for that i almost ended up smashing up courier guy as he was very rude
 
@RedBull

i know the guy at dtdc kottayam office very well. Will ask him, what to do next, and how to proceed, suing the Chennai officials.
