Hi guys,

I m srinivasan, i paid the amount for the cabinet which is Rs4500/- (after bargaining with sunil) as mentioned in the following thread.

I m pretty new here.. Me and Sunil agreed for the amount which is 4500 including shipping on 10-05=2013. In his post he clearly mentioned that he bought CM Sout 2 at first then carbide 300R(which was a bit fishy). When i called him about shipping he said he need to buy a new cabinet and will ship the cabinet once he has bought it. I agreed and on Saturday he said that he contacted DTDC and said that they asked him 800rs as shipping charges. But he has clearly mentioned that Rs 300 is shipping charge. And then he called me and informed that he will talk to FeDEX who will ship for much lesser amount. Finally he contacted me and informed that they are asking for Rs1300/- in which he will pay 500 and i should pay 800, i said that its a total loss to both of us and asked him to drop the deal and refund the money. He immediately hang up and didn't respond to my calls. Now it seems that he has shipped the cabinet without asking me. And also lodged a complaint in case i don't accept the cabinet. Am i the one to fault here? Isn't his duty to properly enquire the shipping price before posting, he clearly mentioned it as 300Rs, he hasn't mentioned it as shipping at actuals if he has done so, i would have asked him to get a quote.

@All; Please tell me what you could have done if you are in my shoes. I really feel frustrated here. He didn't even mentioned me that he is sending the shipment until i saw the thread.
 
It's the seller's fault,a certain price was agreed upon which included shipping.So any dispute arising due to greater shipping cost is not your problem,he should have inquired about the costs involved in shipping.
Also you did offer to trash the deal,which he obviously didn't want...so he hurriedly shipped the product to you and since you refused to pay extra before the product was even shipped,you are not liable to pay him.

The seller wants some extra cash from the deal because now he thinks that his product has been undervalued,but I don't see why you should entertain that!
If he was unhappy with the price,he shouldn't have agreed to sell in the first place .
 
Seller's fault. I'm sure everyone agrees.
But i don't see this: "In his post he clearly mentioned that he bought CM Sout 2".

Now the seller will most probably say he'll refund but return shipping to be paid by buyer. :/
 
if you have paid 4500 & the cabinet arrives, pay 300 more as per thread.
Since he has shipped it already means he has paid whatever shipping amount from his pocket. I am guessing you dont have to pay your part of shipping costs to the courier delivery person ?
So why are you worried.

if the seller demands more money, you post it here.

Good point. Save yourself the hassle. I hope you dont mind paying only 300 more. Let the mods handle the rest.

Actually the freight guy will demand me money, and its not Rs300/-(i would have agreed to pay if its that much). But its around 800, which is too much i will lose money that i gained from going to a second hand product.

@iPwnz: he has actually edited the post from scout 2 to carbide, there is a survey which was being done on that post itself(look there is no carbide 300R there).

part-payment by recipient eh? Very clever of him. Thats troublesome.
Unless he's willing to refund full amount and return shipping also to be paid by him i'm not really sure how this can be concluded. And I wont be surprised if he's against this.
But imo the seller should transfer, 800 (the amount which you need to pay on your part) -300 (the shipping charge as given in the thread), ie. 500rs. You use this+put 300rs from your side and pay for the shipping. Sadly you need to let go of that 300rs.
And please try to arrive to a possible solution asap. The item is already on the way!!
Once everything is done leave an appropriate feedback.

Its between you two so we cant really say anything here. I'm just posting as you seem to be a newbie around here.

I would agree to this, But will he refund 500rs is the big question. I can decline the item which will be a stupid thing to do considering my 4500rs is at stake. I m banging my head i wish i have asked him to provide ebay listing or something similar(i would have had a hold there)..
 
you have to bear the shipping cost?I didn't know there was such an option available...things are only going to get messy!
I don't think he will be willing to pay you anything!!!
but keep your fingers crossed,maybe if he paid the shipping cost already that would be the best thing for you...

total shipping cost is 1300. Seller has paid 500rs., and he wants the buyer to pay 800rs.

AFAIK, there is no service which allows payment of shipping charges in parts it's either paid beforehand or on delivery, and very less companies agree to the payment on delivery part... According to me the shipping charge is just 800 and the seller hasent paid a rupee...

I've heard of shipping paid by recipient but not part-payment. we'll find out when he comes online. Or is he not coming online because he knows this situation will come up? Hmm...
@srinivasan you have his number right? Give him a call and tell him to come online.

@bssunil did mention in his thread that he'd be coming online on tuesday i.e. today,let's hope he does come here and replies.
in his head he is the one who is right... let's hope this advocate doesn't drag this to court!! :P

This what is posted in the Sale thread of mine:

MODS as you have seen my thread I clearly specified Rs.300 for shipping as extra but initially Mr.Srinivasan (buyer) said that he was able to get NZXT Phantom 410 for 5.4k from Mahavir Computers, Mount Road,Chennai but when I enquired about the price from Mahavir Computers quoted me Rs.6250 as the final price. But I agreed to sell my cabinet for 4.5k + 300 for shipping but after considerable bargaining we agreed for 4.5k including shipping. When I enquired DTDC about the amount for shipping to Chennai they said Rs.1300 and same was for Trackon Couriers also. So I shipped the NZXT 410 with Trackon Couriers after paying 500 from my side and the remaining amount to be paid by the buyer. So I called the buyer and explained him this but he refuesed to accept my Offer and wanted a REFUND of his amount which I cannot pay now because I have already bought Corsair 300R for 3.9k So Please consider this as a complaint from my side in case the buyer does not accept my offer when the cabinet reaches him.

@sunil: you could have sold the cabinet locally or restarted the thread with right shipping costs. you should have enquired about shipping costs before posting or atleast before i sent you money. This entire scenario would have been avoided if you have said shipping at actuals then i would have asked you to get a shipping quote(before even negotiating for the price). Now all of a sudden you are complaining against me which isn't ethical.​

I sent him an SMS regarding the name of the courier and the Tracking ID as well on 13-5-13 when I had sent the item via Freight on Delivery by paying Rs.500 by me after calling hime by phone and explaining him of the shipping costs.

Yes total cost of shipping is 1300 as per the dimensions of the BOX shipped which allows for 25kg max but mine is only 9 kg but 1300 must be paid. So there was an option given to me by the courier fellows which is called Freight on Delivery which means the seller must pay shipping charges when a product is shipped to him. But I on my part paid Rs.500 and remaining Rs.800 must be paid by the buyer when he gets his product.OK.
