@bssunil , this is getting ridiculous. you are asking the buyer to bargain with the courier company ? Are you joking.
the buyer has to pay 800 to the courier company. when the package arrives, thats what they will demand and thats what he will have to pay. if he doesnt, they will take the package back which means a loss to you as you would then have to refund the 4500 Rs.
you need to pay the buyer 500 more before the package arrives to him or refund the entire amount back.

You cant do the wrong thing and think you can get away with it.

Am I choking somebody to death or am I cheating? I am just asking him to bargain and the remaining amount I will pay.(800-300=500 I will pay)

i m at my office, probably my mom will collect. i don't think she will bargain. But how are you suppose to bargain when its already agreed by you for 1300rs. I never thought that we will be able to do that.

After you get the Package Please specify the condition of the cabby here and that you received the cabby in good condition or not. OK. The serial number can be seen on the side of the I/O port area of the cabby with which you can go for after market service. OK buddy. I am telling this because you asked me on phone know that's why.

Generally freight is calculated as per KGs but some are calculated by volumes. So if anybody can bargain saying in this way maybe they might come down I think. I am just guessing. FedEx fellow just confirmed that the package is in chennai warehouse for delivery.(7am - 7pm they will deliver it seems)

But why u didn't bargain in the first place? Care to post proof of the shipment(just want to know how much you paid initially)

The seller is clearly at fault here. The buyer has posted this in the first post:

Finally he contacted me and informed that they are asking for Rs1300/- in which he will pay 500 and i should pay 800, i said that its a total loss to both of us and asked him to drop the deal and refund the money. He immediately hang up and didn't respond to my calls. Now it seems that he has shipped the cabinet without asking me.

Sunil had initially posted Rs. 300 as the estimated shipping charges in the sale thread (an extremely low one at that! I doubt if India Post would itself charge such a paltry amount let alone the private couriers!). When the actual amount is higher, you either call the buyer up and inform him of the same and take a call if you guys are willing to part the charges among yourselves or as a goodwill, you as a seller is willing to pay the entire shipping charges (minus Rs. 300 which the buyer has paid for).

Sunil went ahead and shipped the enclosure despite the buyer asking him not to do so, which is clearly Sunil's fault. Seemingly because Sunil wanted the money urgently for his new enclosure and did not want to lose the deal and wait further for some other buyer.

And also lodged a complaint in case i don't accept the cabinet.

Now this part is ridiculous! Pretty much shows that the seller has forced him to buy the cabinet.

I don't have any amount left as to ship the old cabby as I need to buy a new one to transfer my components. I transferred my components and readied the cabby for shipping that's when the real problem arose since I thought 300-600 maybe the price of shipping not ridiculous 1300 buddy. The courier fellow was at the doorstep and I called up the buyer and he refused. What options have I got at that point of time. That courier was the second fellow to come to my doorstep on my request.[DOUBLEPOST=1368607339][/DOUBLEPOST]

Its pretty straight but you are making it complex.
Your first mistake was you did not get a clear quote of the shipping charges and "ASSUMED" something.....
Then you went ahead and made the deal and accepted the payment.
After accepting the payment you bought a new cabinet without getting information about shipping the old one.
What went wrong later with the shipping charges is all your fault but One thing is clear that you need to honor the commitment of the sale at the agreed price and shipping charges(which you asked were Rs300).
Call it your bad luck or stupidity but you need to bear the entire shipping charges. You cannot make the buyer pay after accepting the money.
Now pls stop giving excuses and explanations. The whole crux is that you need to honor your word and bear a partial loss for you OWN mistake.
Be a good boy and refund the buyer the excess shipping amount he has to pay on your behalf..... :) And close this matter....

OK let the buyer pay Rs.800 when he receives the cabinet of which shipping charges are Rs.300 and the remaining Rs.500 I will pay to him. This is the second time I am posting this.

"So I shipped the NZXT 410 with Trackon Couriers after paying 500 from my side and the remaining amount to be paid by the buyer. So I called the buyer and explained him this but he refuesed to accept my Offer"
@bssunil dude that was your mistake. You shipped before contacting the buyer. You should've shipped only after discussing with the buyer.

It's not the buyers fault that the 2nd or the 100th courier guy was at your doorstep. Stop making up reasons and provide srinivasan a feasible solution instead of blaming him for what was clearly your carelessness. It will only do you some good and save your market reputation.

I called the buyer when the courier wala was at my door step and he refused.

@above, then you should have politely requested the courier fellow to go back and apologize for the same and then resolved the issue with the buyer or maybe look for another local buyer. Even after he refused, you went ahead and shipped it and just to be safe lodged a complaint thread to save your rear. Cmon buddy, just admit that you erred and amicably solve this instead of blatantly accusing the buyer for refusal, which either ways he is entitled to.

Since @bssunil has agreed to refund the excess shipping charges we should wait till @srinivasan actually confirms the transaction as complete. Give them some time to make the payments .....

and why did u accept the price of
cabinet to be 4500 including
shipping.
By all clauses it means you
need to pay the shipping, not
me.
True.

omg *epic facepalm*
@mods I think this guy should be barred from the Trade section. I mean he doesn't even know how it works!!

@bssunil dude quit going offtopic! Mahavir/PC Dimension/weight/how much courier charges etc are not relevant to the thread. I think you should first think about trying to work out a solution with the buyer.
bssunil said:
I confirmed the same with
Srinivasan but he refused
Please tell us how this is "confirmation" (of/for shipping) when the seller clearly refused. You yourself just said he refused. By the time you told him the damaged had been done.
Dude please don't try to justify yourself when you clearly are at fault here.

If i may make a suggestion: seller should transfer 800rs to the buyer to pay the shipping charge. After all it was the seller's fault, no?
No offence to seller intended.[DOUBLEPOST=1368609313][/DOUBLEPOST]Edit: apparently solution has been found. Saw it only after posting. I got ninja'd.[DOUBLEPOST=1368609942][/DOUBLEPOST]

This is still wrong because of this:
agreed for the
amount which is 4500
including shipping
And you even want the buyer to bargain?
Is it just me or is this getting worse by the minute (or second)?

come-on why would you get yourself ashamed for just 500rs and eventually barred from trade section or a complete ban

the section works on trust and this issue have already marked you as bad seller. Now as you have already admitted to pay the amt. so lets wait for it

P.S. Check what i did just to build trust and save reputation... even though it was a small amount but i would have done the same if it was big amount too

@bssunil is clearly at fault here. I sold my TF10 earphones some time back and the box of the earphones is pretty small and i though it would take minimum price as per the weight (it was under first 500 Gms or so) and the bluedart guy quoted me 70 Rs for courier but later because of the box dimensions (since i used another box in which i kept the TF10 box), the dimensions increased and he charged me 140 Rs.
So it is not always weight of the item but also dimensions of the packaging taken into consideration by couriers.

Don't even mention it. Been there, faced that. Thats why i rarely pack stuffs in boxes which can determine the volumetric weight. Speedpost= best! No kidding. As per my experiences with couriers i would rate DTDC/BlueDart as 3rd class couriers.

I already sold my entire PC to ambasta of this forum and shipped it to Delhi and see the feedback I got and don't just justify me by this 1 single issue. I took the decision on the factors that 6.25k for NZXT is overpriced which I bought and Mahavir is selling for 5.4k which is the right price (Still Mahavir is selling for 6.25k only). So I thought 4.5k with 300 for shipping is justifiable even though I bought it for 6.7k shipped from theitwares.com buddy. Initially buyer asked for 4k shipped and I did not agree to it. Do you think I suicide bargained myself.

Just see this thread for once: http://www.techenclave.com/community/threads/awesome-core-i5-3570k-gaming-rig-for-sale.147017/

AFAIK, there is no service which allows payment of shipping charges in parts it's either paid beforehand or on delivery, and very less companies agree to the payment on delivery part... According to me the shipping charge is just 800 and the seller hasent paid a rupee...

FOD (Freight on Delivery)
The freight of the shipment will be collected from the consignee at the time of delivery.
