Hello People,

I am facing a weird problem. I have a linksys WRT160N router. It is physically connected to my desktop. Network cards being used: 1) Realtek RTL8139/810x Family fast ethernet, 2)Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 PCI-E Ethernet controller.

Realtek card is an internal card that I put into the pci slot. Atheros is onboard on my mobo. Config in signature.

Laptop has a Broadcom wireless card.

Now, the issue is the router is rebooting itself every 30 seconds or so. It has been happening for 4 hours now. Now, I have tried every possible basic troubleshooting. Power cycle etc. One thing that I noticed is that if I disable my network cards in the desktop, then the router does not reboot. Its only when I bring my PC into the picture, then it happens. I am baffled by this behavior. Only thing left for me to do is to reset it. But, I would like to know if anyone has faced this problem before or not.:S

Assuming you are using both lan cards 1. onboard 2. PCI slot

1. Check PC for Bios update on Asus Site

2. Check PC is working fine with all the drivers updated

3. Assign Fixed IP's e.g. 192.168.1.99

What hardware version is the WRT160N?? Have you updated it to the latest firmware?? And are the ethernet adapter drivers updated to the latest as well??
