Forum Feedback Issues that you face while browsing TE

Okay.
So here is the issue I face.

STOP CHANGING THE GODAMN THEMES AND THE FONTS EVERY TWO WEEKS. IF IT AIN'T BROKEN, DON'T FIX IT.

Team-BHP site has looked the same since a decade, and nobody cares. Why do you have to change things every single day? If you have the compelling must change something today disorder, change the layout of your living room. Your wife will appreciate.
 
Update to the latest version in some time when it becomes available on play store and that should solve the problem.

The layout or theme or font has not changed in over a year, in fact it last changed in March 2013. There is no plan to change it in the future as well.

And everyone will appreciate if you tone down your comments and put across your point in a civil manner, including your wife. :)[DOUBLEPOST=1405146820][/DOUBLEPOST]

I am thinking of discontinuing the iOS version of the app as it is a pain to update and the posts made through iOS do not justify the cost. Neither from android but it has a larger market share in India and is easy to maintain.

So can this be done. Keep the current version in appstore (and never update) and make it usable. Does that require money ? Sorry I don't know how app and these app stores work when it comes to maintaining them and such details.
If you plan to discontinue iOS app then will TE be available in normal tapatalk. I am ok with that too.
 
Looks like https has been enabled in the site. Maybe that's why te app does not work.
While trying to login to te through phone, I saw this irritating banner without a close button. The banner comes right on top of input fields. Lucky I have a good eye and could see through the black background of the banner. The not so lucky ones will probably just stop logging in or visiting the site.

Removed the banner.
 
Back on tapatalk. Got irritated and deleted the forum. Added it again by searching for it in the explore section. Started working again. Btw.....i noticed 2 te forums....one mentioned as techenclave the other as tech enclave. Logged into the former one. The latter one shows error.
 
@Renegade Please do not discontinue the Android app. I browse TE via the app when I am in office. I do not want my company to know what I am doing online. So the app is a big help.

Not discontinuing the android app. Don't worry. :) It has a large user base too.

This is why we are planning to discontinue only the iOS version.

There is a constructive way to handle all issues. There is no change in the themes on the forums. If you can post screenshots or give more details it would be more useful than doing a toss between who is blind.

Whatever be the case, there is no need to be using caustic remarks.
You can state your problem in a normal way as well.

Seems to be a glitch. Reselect the theme from the menu and all should be back to normal.

Thanks for removing the banner. I saw the new TE app and installed it. Works fine, but browsing is quite slow. Any way to disable the avatars from downloading? Just for 10 posts, the app takes lots of time just downloading the avatars. After that it takes its own sweet time loading rest of 6 posts which are not seen till all of them are loaded.
To get 10 posts loaded, it takes around 5-6 minutes now. Previously it would load in 1-2 minutes without avatars.

Are you on 2G network? I am on 3G and it takes roughly 2-5 seconds for everything to appear including avatars. You can also try uninstalling and re-installing the app.

No way to disable avatars.
 
Most pages fail to load on Dolphin browser when browsing using desktop mode. This is a new issue, as I've been using this mode for last six months to browse TE. I don't use apps as the tablet screen is big enough to comfortably browse Facebook etc in desktop mode, and apps make all the text look really clunky as they are optimised for smaller screeens.

I usually get 'Page not found'. Sometimes I may get a link to work by clicking it twice. This is regardless of whether the link is on the main navbar or on a page of search results, or hotlinked from inside a thread.

The only exception seems to be active content markers, eg the 'Mark Forums Read' button or link, which simply do not respond at all.

This started over the weekend, FWIW.
