I've ordered Samsung LA40A650A1 good or bad ?

Hello Guys,

I went to samsung showroom in vasant vihar and ordered their 40" LCD from Series 6 LA40A650A1 for Rs. 95,000.

Although the MRP is like Rs.1,25,000. What I would like to know is that LCD is great or no ? Is it better than Scarlet or Hitachi or any other out here ?

Should I buy from grey market if I can get better model that that ?

Is that model discontinuing or anything thats why they giving that much discount ?

Although the dealer told me technical specifications like 14 bit panel and 100 hertz etc which other LCD's don't have.....

Also I need a 22" LCD for bathroom, tell me which one will be good and very sleek ? But I did ordered LA22A450C1 Series 4 Samsung..havn't paid yet .

You tell me..

also the price u get is good but u could have get the same at 87,700/- in delhi

none the less, still its a good price, if u compare to bombay/ BLR prices...

Its currently one of the best LCD TV.

I think the price has come down because soon we will have series 7 from samsung.

Regarding the info 14 bit panel ....I think its incorrect. I have heard 10bit panel but 14bit...nope

There is no such thing as a 14bit panel, most r 8bit, the good ones r 10bit :D
Some 8bit panels use smart software to show 10bit, but its not the same as a proper 10bit panel. Its a nice screen :ohyeah:
 
Series 6 LCDs are best in Samsung. Even series 5 LCD rocks. I am using Samsung LA32A550A with computer and picture quality is very crisp with HDMI to DVI connection. Go ahead without thought of model but price
 
^ OT: Forget about LCD in your bathroom - spend that much on a bath cubicle and enjoy your massage bath :)
 
its good but if u can wait till diwali were u can get good discounts and samsung will most likely launch the new series 7,8 etc since its already launched in singapore and u can order them in the grey market.

well if see the trend in sony pricing the new tv are mostly cheaper then the older models bcause the lcd panels prices keep falling and they newer tv might be priced cheaper,well u can contact ur nearest grey market dealers.

also sony is launching its new X4500 series.although it will mostly be expensive then the samsung.
 
Ofcourse I do believe they are doing stock clearing or something.

because the latest T3 Magazine ad of samsung says my model for 1,25,000 .

Whereas I'm getting it for 94K.

So pretty good discounting, I believe.
 
well the MRP is 109000 in samsung website ,in magazines the new prices wont reflect fast.in the grey market u can probably get it around 80k to 85k.
 
Congrats, yup the 6 series is a very good choice,currently it is in the top 3 lcds, only problem is place it carefully due to its glossy screen.

Another good choice would have been the new philip lcd, 2ms ,120hz and picture and looks to die for,would recommend it over 6 series.

well the philips is close, but its no where near the contrast produced by the samsung which is in turn beaten by the sony W series,also the samsung has a superior image processing only beaten by the sony X series bravia 2 ex,pro engine and equal to the sony W series bravia 2 engine.

he talking about philips 42PFL9703/98 this model doesnt have the contrast which is about 50% of the samsung contrast also the black levels again doesnt match the samsung.the drawbacks of philips are obvious since its lcd panel tech is different.these drawbacks are also mentioned in proffesional reviews.

the samsung is good for the price like i said only beaten by the sony W series which has the highest contrast of any lcds sold in india,and the deepest blacks,while it is more expensive.
the only negative thing mentioned in the reviews of sony are "Sound isn’t up to par with the excellent image quality".

while the samsung negative mentioned in the reviews are "Colors slightly inaccurate".

while the philips negative mentioned in the reviews are"Gamma correction cannot be deactivated,Weak contrast,Lack of depth in black.
 
The Sammy and Sony are S-PVA panels.

The Philips is mostly an S-IPS panel, with better contrast ratios for sure. Adder, link to 9703 review?
