Japan offers India to join Next-Gen Fighter jet Project.

BTW, There was a contention about utility of drones in war on TE by someone, Russia proved how drones redefine warfare in this age:
Drones like cyber are not a game changer. They are just one more tool you can use or in place of. Anything more is just hype.

Has Russia been able to win yet? No. Why not. So how can you say redefine

"The terrifying new weapon changing the war in Ukraine" is how BBC titled that article.
Drone and antidrone weapons were used in recent Indo-Pak skirmish too.
Will be a feature in all future wars.

Reason for why Russia could not win yet, just remove support by every powerful nations in the world to Ukraine, money being thrown into this blackhole like it's raining cats and dogs and then you will know within few weeks.
As an afterthought, you should be asking all the powerful countries in the world why they couldn't stop Russia yet and it's a shame.

BBC can call it whatever they want. Doesn't make it so

Yes just another option

Russia should still have done much better than they have. I hold Putin responsible.

Stop Russia isn't the right term.

Why they provoked Russia in the first place would be more accurate. This is an unnecessary war and should never have been allowed to happen. That it did is down to the west and the democrats in charge at the time

That was some quite deep dive to self contradiction... :D

Yep, we all have our personal opinions. But at last, what happens in real world matters.

There is no contradiction at all. One follows as a consequence of the other.

Putin made a half hearted effort at the start. Clearly reluctant to go down this path. Still feel Russia is pulling it's punches in Ukraine.

Not a 'personal opinion' but a defendable fact.

That's what distinguishes it from 'opinion'.

USA want St. Martin Island as a submarine port and anchor in South Asia against China. Naturally, Indian is not going to like it. https://www.telegraphindia.com/worl...s-cites-plot-to-sell-country-prnt/cid/2102259

Not at all dismissing the threat there, however the fact remains that India's enemies are it's immediate neighbors only.
I rather see US get the base than China.

US and India have both single major concern- China.
India Should have asked Sheikh Hassina to give the base to Americans and be in power.

Now look at this Yunus guy. Complete hostile attitude.

Is there any proof that this true or just some BS made up by a wily politician.
This exactly why I don't believe it.

The US wants a base there for what purpose?

They are friendly with Thailand as well as Singapore. They could have had a base there if they wanted.

So what benefit then is there for St. Martins?

In fact I don't see any purpose for the US to be there given that India is next door. The IN can handle any threat there including China having a base there.

Only one benefits from this story is Bangladesh and Hasina in particular

Why? Where is the threat

If we will take care of anything here they have no reason to be here at all
Firstly I believe If US does not move in China will. So to deter chinese to have a base there is one of the reason.. Beside US is also trying to circle China as tensions grow with them over Taiwan and other issues.

Beside This is a map of American presence in more than 49 countries . Half of them are right next to each other. I dont see where the threat is but they still prefer to have their presence at many places as they can. US just does not wait for a threat to emerge . they are very proactive with their plans to bully the world with their military presence.

Recently UK-US signed a 101 million pounds deal with Mauritius for a base in Chagos to deter the chinese coming in.

People go on about Chinese bases and presence forgetting in the Indian Ocean none of them stands a chance against a concentrated IN attack. Therefore they are of no tactical threat. Strategic might be different and this string of pearls business started by some management consultants in 2005 and parroted endlessly by Indian commentators.

Since WW2, the US has underwritten the security of Europe, the ME and the far east. That's where most of their bases are. They serve a purpose. They do not come for free and have to be worth what it costs to maintain them.

I think that has to do with the 100yr lease the US got for Diego Garcia. Not about new bases but maintain and extend the lease for what is already existing.

Putin's war plan was probably for very few weeks or few months, capture Zelenski thus UA as a short term operation. Plan failed miserably, huge international support to UA, sanctions and RU's money with assets blocked, all weapons from old cranky recyclable material to modern ones being provided to UA, etc. ensued which were unexpected by him.
RU cannot move fast because opponent UA is provided with weapons and almost realitime intelligence from most powerful countries in the world, RU is fighting this alone vs most powerful countries in the world which is next to impossible for any other country. Putin's effing own helicopter was attacked last week while visiting Kursk...!
Till now, RU is pulling the punches there, obvious from the map in BBC news link related to drones. BBC regularly updated maps earlier, now they are reluctant probably seeing progress of RU.
Not a 'personal opinion' but a defendable fact.
Internationally drones are billion$ business, in India accelarating drastically, the Kaveri engine itself is planned to be used in UCAVs too. So are other countries even including non-discript militia. Can carry huge punch of explosive power, surivilance capability without lose of valuable military persons which is huge plus point. Note that drones include land and sea worthy ones too now.
One of reason why RU could sustain till this day is their massive use of drones in tune of several hundreds or if not a thousand+ daily, together with glide bombs (FABs are terrifying). Drone power is acknowledged by 'who is the who' of military powers in the world, to say otherwise is purely disigenous, monkeywrenching self decieving attitude.

The reality is that neither USA nor China presence there is in India's interest. Younus is infamus non-descript stooge considered as USA asset. China's presense means trouble for India, but USA's presense means the region is in perpectual quagmire for decades to come. Either India alone or India with support from USA should control the entire region, otherwise we are in hot water.
Is there any proof that this true or just some BS made up by a wily politician.
That area is crtical and sensitive for navy due to trade and regional powers present, so every power may want that island.
In recent weeks there were reports that USA military visited that region:
In June 2025, there is a planned joint military exercise between the US and Bangladesh called “Exercise Tiger Lightning”.
Talk about USA's interest means USA is already invested in that interest.

There is also Rakhine state and Arakan army, USA's interest in them which is not much talked about: https://nenews.in/politics/indian-o...t-burmese-rebel-groups-think-otherwise/13602/

Yes but Like I said rather have US than china .
With US we can still working strategically on many fronts. Even a member of QUAD so having US is still better deal than China for us Indians.
ofcourse its not a good option to have.

India carries out many missile test in the Orissa region and Bay of Bengal. Having US presence there will mean they will be tracking each and every test but having China tracking your every missile test is much more security risk.

China is definitely bad, India cannot work with them.
Mentioned this earlier, only option left for India is working with USA. But if one see from USA's own eyes, it's easy for them to fully control a weak Bangladesh than organized country like India with own interests. India neither don't have power and capacity to control Bangladesh, nor the maritime region even with USA's assistance.
India's biggest intimidating mistake also was letting Sri Lanka unilaterally win in their interior civil conflict without protecting India's interest.
With Dollar hegemony gone, US will no longer have the means to support such an defense empire. They will need to scale down.
Don't ever believe what USA preach, look and see what they do in real world.
They talks about reducing international involvement, DOGE, etc. but are drastically increasing defense expenditure for what, invading Canada, Venezuela, etc. ? USA uses their weapons to enforce US$ hegemony, without that USA will not be a power in the world, they are acting subdued now only to flare up within short time.

My post isn't rooted in anything US said/done. A majority of world today is rejecting Dollar shackles. (Though I believe most in US see dedollarisation as a way out of debt crisis).

Regarding Canada, Venezuela, I already said US continent will suffer most at the hand of US as US will try to compensate loosing control elsewhere. I am really afraid for Argentina.

Most of the the world sees this crisis as AI and debt crisis. But reality is, it's Dollar crisis. Lets see when does Japan starts dumping $'s.
Also, not just US continent but Europe too. Every country will have to produce some real goods now. No free money and No " Meri Topi Tere Sir".

Edit:
Forgot to add cryto ki topi, which US citizens are going to wear while their elite grab gold and later govt will take away that topi too. Too much fun
