Jio Lost Network All Over Mumbai !!!

Glad on such days I have an Airtel connection along with a Jio one. But in general, I have come across too many locations in Mumbai where one works while the other struggles.

don't they have alternate mechanism to restore network from other line/center etc.
Just like Hosting Servers, if one data center down due to some issue, within minutes they restore service via Back-Up Data Centers.

ain't that simple, you need time to fallover to your alternate DCs (specially at the scale Jio or any other ISP operates)and then considering the number of users Jio has to serve and the fact their capacity momentarily massively got cut, it's actually pretty good they handled the cutoff this gracefully.

It is not just the DC that's affected, it's the calling also that was affected. It means there backbone links went down so nothing was available to cater the traffic and no single node could talk to each other and also some links that were up were not able to handle the already running traffic.

People in Mumbai, Thane regions are live streaming Ganpati Visarjan which is the biggest event of the year here. Maybe that is also adding up to the network load.
