Joost, the web TV company launched by the founders of Skype, rolled out its full commercial service today offering 150 channels of ad-supported TV online.

The Joost service has been running an extended beta trial, or test version, since December 2006 and is now open to the public.

Content includes programming from broadcast networks including CBS, Viacom and Turner Broadcasting.

Shows available include CSI, Survivor, Beavis and Butthead and Transformers, as well as classic series such as Charlie's Angels, Starsky and Hutch and Spiderman.

should b really interesting to see how this matures.... With broadband slooooooooly coming into India its going to be interesting to see whether Skype can to do TV what they did to the phone!!!

I got invites so anyone who needs one can leave your full name along with your email address here or send me a pm. This will definitely require a lot of bandwidth to run properly though since the video quality looks decent. Will definitely not work on a 256k connection since i've tried it already and just got an error after a little while saying that the program is not available at the moment. Network requirements as posted on the website are Broadband/ADSL 1Mbit/s downstream, 512Kbit/s upstream recommended.
