CPU/Mobo Just Bought an i5 and things are not working.. Please Help

Yesterday I bought :
Intel Core i5 760@2.80ghz
Gigabyte H55M-UD2H
Cosair 4gb ddr3 1600mhz kit (2*2gb)

i previously had :
AMD athlon x2 4000+ 2.11ghz (SUCKED)
2gb ddr2 ram (SUCKED)
Asus AM2 motherboard (SUCKED)

i installed the new parts with my :
Coolermaster eXtreme 600W
Palit 9600gt
2 Hdds

after I completed physical installation, I plugged in the power supply and started the system and also i forgot to plug in the 6pin connector at first.
The system ran properly but the no display on screen.
On realizing my mistake i plugged in the 6pin connector and started the system..
This is where the problem starts

The power kept on going ON and OFF every 3 secs. the fans spin, LEDs light up stuff starts working and BAAM system off.. it starts up again and goes out after every 3-4 seconds. and doesn't stop.
Have you ever experienced this ? Please help me solve this, i am really excited to see how stuff works but its just lying inside the cabinet :huh:
 
check the power supply cord aand also ram.
i had the similar problem on one pc i worked...
thats an shitty headeck for psu most the time.
 
Remove ur GFX card and try the onboard graphics that comes with ur mobo....(vga connector).

edit : srry i thought that mobo had onboard graphics....try taking the mobo out of the cabinet and then connecting everything outside with a single stick RAM...also try without the gfx card.
 
Check all PSU connections, remove and reconnect.

Remove one of the RAM sticks and try the other one in different slots.

Btw, i5-760 does not have integrated GPU so connecting the mobo VGA port wont help.
 
Try a new PSU.

Also when you realized you forgot the PEG 6-PIN did you plug it in with the system powered down..?
