Hey Guys,

Just installed iDeneb 10.5.7 from Hackintosh people.

Must say its a great OS and installation etc problems took whole sunday.

But must say whatever time it took was really worth it !

So I'm loving this OS, could you guys tell me how to make it dual boot with my older vista ?

The vista is on the other drive and I have to always switch the HDD priority to boot to it and if I wanna boot leopard then I have to give mac osx drive the priority.

The Drivers went totally fine, even SPDIF is working sexily on iTunes... he he .. and ATI 4850 etc etc..

If anyone trying to install iDeneb and needs help let me know.

Trust me, its a great way to know how this OS works before purchasing a macintosh. :hap2:

Fow Show.... My config is totally like a normal assembled pc and ideneb provides all drivers for the same, you just have to tick what to install and what not to install.

I think installing wrong drivers also create nuisance in time of installation. (maybe m wrong).

My board is gigabyte p35-dq6 , c2d 6550, 4 gig corsair, ati 4850, 640x2 aaks ..

All working great till now... I'll say visit hackintosh.org or insanelymac forums,

I will provide links of which installation guide helped me to move forward.

Even I installed iPC OS X 10.5.6 and later updated it to 10.5.7.

working perfectly :).Loving every bit of it.

To dual boot with your existing Vista/Windows 7 ,

1)boot from your Vista/Win7 setup dvd. start repair and do a repair of startup entries.

skip the ^ above step ,incase you can already boot into Vista(by changing boot priority)

2)Once in Vista ,download Easy BCD and run it. In easy BCD add a entry for MAC OS X.
3)reboot and keep the first boot device as your Vista/Win7 disk.

4)new entry for OS X should be added into the Vista boot loader.

Using this method i was successful in doing a dual boot of Windows 7 and OS X 10.5.7 :D

use easybcd beta version the stable doesnt work very well while adding osx entry

i also have a dualboot win7 x64 and IPC 10.5.7 it works beautiful .

iwork crashing but i am on it .

I was looking to install OSX as well. My question is, what is the difference between iatkos, ideneb, ipc etc?

I have already downloaded iatkos v7 (10.5.7). Is there some version I should try first? Like one is better than the other?

In the last 2 threads itself, I see each 3 people suggesting each 3 different versions. :P I suppose its based on their experience which one was stable.

Bah my mac is not booting up now, it gives error..even by normal method :P lol.

Do I need to install iDeneb on same drive/different partition to make it working with an ease ?

I don't know its not booting, so I'll probably format the drive and install it again..it hardly take 15 minutes to the max.

But it wasn't shutting down as well..maybe I'll install all fixes this time.. what say ? any suggestions !

@ coolraghav

i will tell what i did

i had win 7 x64 installed

then installed iPC 10.5.6 on same HDD but different partiton

the partition which u have dedicated for osx to be NTFS

after dvd boot go in Disk Utility and format the partition

Install according to ur processor and hardware

the install should finish succesfully

reboot

the osx will not boot nor will win 7

put the Win 7 dvd repair the bootloader

Boot into Win 7 add a osx entry through easybcd

boot again and u will be able to boot into osx

If still not able to boot u can try reinstalling osx and this time win 7 bootloder will not get corrupt and the osx entry will allow u to boot into osx.

boot with -v -f to load all kext and verbose mode to see errors

set up ur username and stuff

thats what i did and it worked

It might or might not work with u

I have a inspiron 1501 with a turion 1.6 , 4 gb and 120 sat HDD

DVD drive is not working after osx boots but rest all hardware i have been able to use .

best of luck in ur mac nirvana

So I would be reinstalling mac osx on different drive (keep vista drive priority intact) and then checking if repair of vista is needed.

If needed then I give it the repair and then use easy bcd to give mac osx starting option.

correct ?

I doubt this will work, how would easybcd get to know in which drive my mac osx is ?

it works for me

after adding osx entry and booting the osx , osx bootloader takes over

first it gives option of booting from specific HDD if u have more than one HDD then that HDD all partions are shown if u press any key

if u dont press any thing osx boots up

if i remember correctly

easybcd activates the osx bootloader which knows where is osx installed

i am no authority but thats what i did

Whenever i faced the Shutdown issue after some installation the tool helped me a lot..
