A question: do the raptors truly add performance to a desktop system? Or are they just for bragging rights? I sometimes think it would be better to skip the raptors and spend the savings on some other components.

One word: "LOAD TIMES ARE REDUCED BEYOND YOU CAN IMAGINE!"

oops....

The motherboard isnt one id go for Karan..

Id choose the P5W-DH over this.. Or even the P5B...

The MSI, isnt that great.. Just coz Coolaler uses it, doesnt mean its the best :p.

Also.. The Gfx is an "ok" choice.. I guess its to hold you over to DX10..

Rather get the X1900GT or the 7600GT then :bleh:...

If you wanna take pointers from my Final plan.. Here you go..

E6600

P5W-DH Deluxe

GSkill DDR2-800 2GBHZ

X1900XT/X1800XT (Tide me over till DX10)

Right now Ill keep the NeoHE.. but when i go Kentsfield, which will be as soon as its releases, ill get a 700W or more PSU :p.

Water Cooling :eek:hyeah:..

Single 36.7GB Raptor, for OS..

Upgrading my 300GB SATA to a 500GB SATA II :p...

atleast get a x1900xt or 7900gt if not the motherboard

That MSI board is not bad at all. It has overclocked well.

When it comes to P5W DH. IMHO dont fix your mind on this board yet. ASUS needs to iorn out few things on this board yet. Maybe a bios update is all it needs but it needs that.

When are you gona start purchasing parts. Motherboard choice depends on that.

Even 975XBX is good board but its not user friendly board

I am starting to like it a lot though.

Also good luck finding Tower 120. And if you do please let me know too.

I think he already has 7800GT and raptors.

Rest all look ok.

Overall good choice Karan.Nothing much i can say here.Congrats and waiting for you to get it and start cranking it up sooner than later.

If you buy an X1900 XT, I will personally steal it from you...... I have had it with people making me burn with jealousy :p

Anyway that is a nice setup. I wild counsel against the Asus mobo because of the problems KITT has had with it.

The Intel Badaxe would be the only other mobo I recommend. But this is also good enough.

Lol.. Only Kitt has had problems with the P5W-DH...

Look on XS.. The board is reaching 450FSB easily.. and 500+ FSB with Mods...

450FSB is more than enuf for me.. Plus the features on that P5W-DH Deluxe, are amazing :eek:hyeah:...

Plus i have some intel on the Asus P5W-Dh, that i cant share :bleh:.. Not allowed to actually.. :bleh:

Trust me, its an amazing board...
