Nokia phones have higher SAR rating than the norm - do not buy if you are looking at SAR mainly. Would suggest to find out what models are available and go for those with least SAR.

You requested to avoid chines and same time requires feedback on iBall Handset? iBall too are CHEAP chines.
I had iBall Fab9 and believe me I'm not satisfied with it. Incoming call sound some time too loud, too low. .. some time screaming.. too bad to understand what other end person is talking.

About Samsung I can said it will give you good pack (good pic/mp3/fm/battery life). How about Samsung Metro DUOS C3322

Don't go for Sony below 10k handset .. don't know about latest Sony android handset

Again wish to specify... Branded handset company Nokia, Samsung, Sony, LG etc. always keep there handset SAR value within permissible limits ONLY.
  1. Higher SAR (with above Brand and within permissible limits) Good Network Signal Strength and No Call Drop or Low Call Sound
  2. Low SAR (there is NO LIMIT for how low it should be so user can get good NETWORK) Bad/disturbed Network Signal So Call Drop or Low Call Sound, fast battery drain (if handset set to select Network Automatically.
  3. My Samsung handset SAR Value is: SAR EU 0.84 W/kg (head) and I still face Network Issue or No Network Some time within CITY.
  4. Nokia handsets are very good in Call/Network receptions compare to other handset.. just check those Nokia handset SAR Value with other with network issue handset you will come to know all.
  5. Maximum Chinese handset are very good with LOUD SOUND either FM or CALL..... cause High SAR (may be more than permissible limits)
  6. I think you should go with phone that passed or provided EU SAR info. Check SAR info at Gsmarena.com if provided.
I didn't post to defend High SAR (more than permissible limits) is GOOD.

I mean its higher than 1 usually, when there are phones which have 0.5. As for signal drop and all, does that mean the Samsung S3 will have more call drops compared to, say a Nokia Asha?

Hi,

what I post is based on my personal experience with Sony, Samsung, Nokia and iBall Handset.

I don't have S3 or Asha so ... no comments :(

Have a narrow eye on it, for sure. Should I consider suggested Nokia- Asha210 & Asha302 as suspecting they might have high SAR? anyone pl clarify here.

Ignore my knowledge on I-ball. Thanks. Sam.C3322 on the list now. Is there same model in single SIM?

So, on the list now:
1. Nokia Asha 302 (suspecting on high SAR value)
2. Nokia Asha 210 (suspecting on high SAR value)
3. Nokia E5, E71 (old series, to be decided after playing hands on it)
4. Sammy Duos C3322 (looks decent option, meet all primary features..)

Still prefer to have 2-3 more options if I can get...

I think no need to worry about High SAR till it is WITHIN PERMISSIBLE LEVEL (Check with EU SAR ratio as Standard.. search net for) and user are not going to keep handset every time near Head or Ear.
I think If the Network Signal is low - fear of more radiation while trying to catch network (... just like not to use mobile with very low battery specially when 1 or 2 power pole left as at that time more radiation suspected .. I have no proof, but speculation after reading few things here and there)
When out - you can use Hands-free

Samsung Metro S3310 if you can find any where, as it's very old model but Study & Tough.

*Low SAR = Frequent Call Drop and all

@Emperor Low SAR has got no connection to call drops, neither does high SAR mean call drops wont occur. I too was under this misconception earlier - but then how do some phones have low SAR and no call drops? Kindly understand the logic.

Unless the person is in a very weak spot - the cell will send max power - in which case it is advisable to switch off/avoid having a cellphone at all.

@OP - I bought the Nokia Asha 501. I find that its given too much praise for what it can actually do, so I would advice to have a relook at the Asha series. I find the lack of WhatsApp (model specific), inability of cloud contact sync (all Asha, I believe) and lots of missing stuff.

I postponed buying y'day hoping to have firm determination with getting more option. I wish to zero down today & buy it straightway from stores. Nokia Asha model stated above looks business model while i am on hunting for a lady.

Hi Vivek,

What I said is on my personal experience.

I have Samsung handset with low SAR and my brother have Nokia handset with high SAR value than my handset.

He receive calls and do calls from place (spot/room) where I can't as my cell shows NO SIGNAL or LOW SIGNAL, we both have VODAFONE connection, one of the best Network Provider Service.

Even in rural area/village my brother receives call and hear clearly while at same time a issue with call received by me, even while traveling by bike/bus/train my brother can do call 90% time, while my chance always 50% or low.

My uncle with BSNL didn't face problem with chepo Nokia handset but using same sim with my Samsung cell I face issue.

how do some phones have low SAR and no call drops? Kindly understand the logic.

Yes low SAR handset is BEST when you are NEAR TO CELL TOWER and move in- in radius of cell tower coverage. I yet to come across (within my family and friends) any cell with LOW SAR getting Clear Network. In-fact, there is 4 cell tower within 100 meter near by my working place and STILL some time I face issue (on ground floor) too with network.

Unless the person is in a very weak spot - the cell will send max power - in which case it is advisable to switch off/avoid having a cellphone at all.
In coming months more and more Cell Towers will be removed or need to ACCEPT GOVT. NORMS to avoid Hazardous Health Issues over near by People. I don't know what exactly Cell Tower owner (service providers) will do but in plain term somebody told me that they will reduce the GAIN. So in such case handset below/less than standard SAR value may face issue with Network (Call).
I don't know how many of use Switched off their cells when no network, instead maximum people restart cell to catch network.

May be you are right about SAR value and Network.
