PC Peripherals Keyboard Maintenance

It is my general observation that the keyboard with time gets clogged with dust and other useless stuff pretty quickly . This ultimately leads to the keys getting harder to press and typing getting increasingly difficult.

Now , I want to know whats the best way to avoid that and if at all it happens what is the best way to clean you keyboard. I once took out all the keys washed the KEYB; dried and reassembled it. Worked like a charm :hap2: but took me the entire day to do it :|.

Any suggestions ?

Invert it and gently tap it all over that's what i do. Than use a soft blower to blow the dust away.

Cover the keyboard with plastic. No entry of dust no clogging.

I loved my Microsoft Basic Keyboard. So one day when I decided that it was too dirty I took a small screwdriver; removed each and every key... soaked them in water cleaned them and then cleaned the keyboard too.

Result: A spic clean keyboard and a very very bad backache. Not worth it trust me... now I just run the blower on it and am back to work.

P.S.: MS Keyboard donated to sister and me on el cheapo Logitech Keybd cannot care much about this one :bleh:
