Kim Dotcom has launched new secure file sharing and storage site Mega is finally live and has seen a huge surge in the user registrations just after its launch.
The site has been launched at 6:48 a.m , Jan 20, exactly 1 year after his home was raided by New Zealand authorities, and his file sharing site Megaupload was taken down due to copyright violations.
Just after 10 mins of launch, Kim tweeted that his server bandwidth reached from 0 to 10 Gigabit utilization. Later he reported that user sign-ups were coming at rate of 1000 per min.
Within 2 hours, the sign ups reached 250,000.
Users can sign-up on Mega.co.nz for basic service with 50GB of free storage or additional paid storage and bandwidth.
