Kinect Headed to Windows in 2012 - Xbox 360 News at IGN

Microsoft has announced that Kinect is officially on its way to Windows. In a blog post on the Microsoft Developer Network site, Microsoft's Craig Eisler confirmed that the Kinect for Windows commercial program will launch next year.

"This year, we're showing the world how to re-imagine entertainment," Eisler wrote. "Next year, with Kinect for Windows, we will help the world re-imagine everything else."

Kinect for Xbox 360 has already spread to several functions beyond gaming, and over two hundred companies have registered for the Kinect for Windows pilot program. According to Eisler, "putting the power of Kinect + Windows into the hands of business leaders and technical visionaries will give them the tools they need to develop novel solutions for everything from training employees to visualizing data, from configuring a car to managing an assembly line."

Kinect For Windows will launch in early 2012. A new version of the SDK is currently available for download.

Great, so now we'll see people doing crazy stuff in front of their PCs. Nice ....

I believe this will not be restricted to Windows gaming alone..! If that is the case, like Bluffy says, awesome :P The potential use can only be limited by the limits of imagination. Of course, get ready for some really crazy stuff too.. ;)

^I want some XXX-Rated games. :ohyeah:

This would also to a great extent impact the Xbox sales in my opinion. For many people, Kinect has been the deciding factor when choosing between a PS3 and an Xbox. On the other hand, Microsoft will hugely profit from the Windows Kinect sales.

Oh believe me, GTA is not the kind of game I had in mind. :P Just use your imagination, the possibilities are endless. :P The Banned adult games for Xbox can now launch on the PC. :D
