Kingfisher Excess Baggage Charges

for all airlines the charges are arounf 1350/kg (at least on international flights) i think they would be the same for domestic.

^ I dont think its that expensive. I had inquired (2004) about carrying an extra bag with BA, they had quoted around $200-250 from US to India. I dont think it would be that expensive now.

And I think I had payed ~Rs.400 for a 10kg box I had to take in a IA flight once.

It's around 70-100/kg for domestic flights depending on flight and locations.

Usually, the friendly ground staff will help you pool your excess baggage with a business traveller or somebody under the limit, saving you of extra costs.

last month my bro and other friends were overexcess by about 15-20 kg , airlines said 70rs. per kg and then when these guys gave sweet talks and said they were just students and stuff they dropped the price to a flat 500 buks for their entire over excess.....its more like speaking and talking to a 'Dell' rep :hehe: depends on luck whom u talk with and delivery of sweet talks......btw things are difficult for international long distance flights.

Kingfisher will usually waive the extra charges.. KF, Jet, Jetlite and Indian are decent about this. Dhakkan, GO and IndiGo will rip you apart...

thats quite risky anish :p you never know what the other person has in his bag :p

just tell them u r a student n live in a hostel n taking food stuff etc .. they always fall for dat .. i took my entire desktop and winter clothes that way in kingfisher .. just be persuasive ...

Excess baggage in domestic flights is damn cheap. Once I was 30 kilos over the actual limit and all I had to pay was 900 bucks. International for british airways is not that expensive either. An extra bag upto 23 kilos costs 120$ if booked online.

KF are quite accomodating, and I doubt they'll charge you anything extra as long as you're not exceeding the limit by a huge margin.

I travelled from Kolkata to Blore with my PC this Feb on Spicejet.

The free limit is 20 Kg and my luggage (minus hand bag) weighed at 28 kg.

The normal charge is Rs. 80 / kg and so I had to pay Rs. 640 extra . I tried to sweet-talk the dude but he was as stiff as a -----.

it was 60bux/kg on indigo

they dont charge if its 3-4kgs over limit though

if thay ask...tell them u r a student (i really am :p ) so u have to carry...they let u through :D
