Hi,
I was about to get GSKILL 3 x 2GB DDR3 1600Mhz RAMS from Mutant from the US, when he informed me that the shipment got stuck and mine as well as his RAMS were sent back :(
So, my question is can i get Kingston/Transcend DDR3 RAMS here in the local market[Mumbai,Pune etc - I live in Pune]. WTB 6GB and the prices here are astronomical! [14K for 6GB is suppose]

Astronomical? Thats the right word. Even on Newegg DDR3 Ram is cheaper, whereas here it is 50% higher than importing from USA.

For example:

Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333 RAM is for $65 on Newegg, even after considering the CA state tax (8.25%) + custom duty (30%) + Dollar-Rupee conversion rate (Rs 52 per $), it should be available for about Rs 4757/.
But the rate for this RAM in India, is 8000+. Thats nearly 90% higher than having it imported. Only at one place did I find it at 7K. Even then that is about 60% higher. Isn't it strange ?
Dealers are you listening (or reading) ?

I would not advise Kingston or Transcend RAMs to anyone, until i hear good things about Accel RMA
Last i heard Transcend RMA takes 45 days, u really wouldnt want to have your PC down for so long
Kingston i guess its around 30 days

Only good local option is Corsair RAMs, even though they are a lil bit expensive

yes, many RAMs importers making huge profit from DDR3 sales in India, although ddr2/ddr3 import duties are same, they are really cheating Indian Community,!!!

indian dealer r m@therf**rs not in ram but in all trading where its laptop warranty issue,Mboard issue u just name it. bastards!
