Now this is something I didn't expect. :S

Despite selling 4 million copies of L.A. Noire, Team Bondi appears to have gone bankrupt, with staff facing a choice of a move to another studio or severance pay.

It’s been a bizarre run of bad news and even worse press for Australian developer Team Bondi since the release of their critically acclaimed, Rockstar-published, detective thriller L.A. Noire, and it appears it has culminated in the studio collapsing into bankruptcy – despite Take Two revealing yesterday that the game has sold over 4 million units.

We reported several days back that Team Bondi may have been in the process of being absorbed into Sydney-based production studio Kennedy Miller Mitchell, who work across a range of media, and now Develop understands that staff at Team Bondi have been given the choice between moving to that business – or accepting a severance package and unemployment. Game IP and other assets are also apparently in the process of being sold off, which would appear to indicate that Team Bondi has become insolvent – or are possibly being acquired by KMM. Australian law means that Team Bondi is not required to formally notify authorities that they are filing for bankruptcy for 28 days after the fact, so no public confirmation has yet been forthcoming.

The staff themselves appear to be in the dark as much as everyone else, with Develop noting that they have received little information from studio boss Brendan McNamara. McNamara was at the centre of a storm of allegations concerning ill-treatment of staff at Team Bondi during the development of L.A. Noire, and one of the ironies of the present situation would be if he joined up with KMM – since that is where many disgruntled former Team Bondi employees headed to when they left.

So is the porting to PC happening at rockstar solely? If yes another poor PC port

Wow this sucks? LA Noire was a GOOD game. So this means no more awesome DLC's.

I would so much have loved London, SF, NY, and especially Chicago Noire :(

Technically, Rockstar owns the L.A. Noire IP. So they don't really need Team Bondi to weed out sequels. Their own teams can do it too.

I think this is why we ARE getting a a PC port in the first Place,i hope they dont mess it up badly and i really hope i t comes with all the dlc's as far as i know i think the game has shit tons of DLC's

I think this is just another ploy or Mr. Brendan Mcnamara. Previously after the success of The Gateway on the PS2, he dissolved his studio and set up shop at sydney with a new studio Team Bondi. Now that LA Noire has proven to be a commercial hit, he is just planning to offload the studio, make some quick cash, set up a new studio again & hire in-experienced people for cheap. In fact I remember reading somewhere a really nice article about the real truth behind LA Noire and Team Bondi. Just my 2 cents

The employees as such were pissed off at McNamara for not giving due credit for their strenuous work, by omitting around 100 + of their names from the Credits sequence. The employees retorted and decided to launch another website. Besides, the working practices inside the organisation seemed to have been questioned with employees complaining a 12-hour schedule a day and so forth.

Bankruptcy is a joke, having sold 4+ million units of the game. :|
