Hi folks,
In this small office we have, a mixed network, with wired as well as wired PCs.
Now the networking is set up like this:
Wireless Router (built in ADSL) with IP 192.168.2.1
DHCP is disabled.
All PCs have fixed IP addresses from 192.168.2.2 to 192.168.2.28
Typical network settings in PC are as
IP: 192.168.2.x (where x is from 2 to 28)
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.2.1
Preferred DNS: 192.168.2.1
Secondary DNS: <blank>
We use a software called Interchat3 to communicate between the PCs (in different rooms).
ConWare
Now with wired, all PC users can chat with each other using InterChat3. However, the wireless PCs are not able to "see" the wired users on the chat program! Why is that? This chat program (or another which might work) is important in the office.
All users (wired and wireless) are able to access other shared resources like Network Hard disk, shared Printer on the network, and the Internet. I find it rather strange. Any workarounds for this. Are the network settings okay?
Thanks to all in advance.
