Today I and my Friend was at Lamington road for my motherboard and as we need a laptop his year ! we got some quote for the same !

I was asking for a lappy with AMD A10 Laptop and for which i only got HP - G6 model and one ASUS I think !

We were looking for following Configuration :

AMD A10
8GB RAM
1TB Hdd
15.6 Screen
and all normal things !

But after reading bad things about hp g6 series i am tensed now :arghh:

So what to do ????

Please suggest something in 30k to 40k.

I was able to find this one online :)

how is 720m against 7660m ?

Would love to have a lappy with i5 3rd gen, 2 gb Radeon HD 8750M or Radeon HD 8770M, 8gb min to 16 gb max, 1 tb hdd.

consider samsung NP370R5E-S05IN too. slim laptop but priced 43k!!!

Cons :
1) 3 cell giving backup of 3 hrs !
2) no optical drive which is now a days must for people like us to submit projects in dvd's.
3) max is 6 GB o_O

Ensure you get it from a Authorised Dealer - A friend had issues with Dell - He sold him a i5 saying its a quad core. He bought it from Lamington and Dell says they wont do anything. Plus the chap in question had installed a pirated version of Windows or something like that - not sure on that.

Yep i have seen the difference that this shops r offering :p

got quotes from 28,000/- to 42,000/- for the same
hp G6 with windows 8, AMD A10, 2gb Graphics, 8GB RAM, 1TB Hdd !

Please exercise caution when buying from LR. As Vivek said, be doubly sure regarding warranty n support before you purchase from any shop. Lastly, if a price is too good to believe, you can be sure there's a reason for it.. and most often than not, it's something that involves a catch/fine print.

What really happens with the AMD A series is there are no games that utilize the hybrid-crossfire configuration, the performance that you'll be getting will be the same as you'll get with just the onboard enabled and when you run the driver in crossfire mode it heats up A LOT, while gaming you'll get temperatures ranging to 90C within 15mins.

The workaround fr this is to disable crossfire and enable the discrete GFX option, now since the CPU HSF and the GFX HSF are in the same package, during gaming temps will again reach ~ 80C within 15mins.

HP G6 series gives up in both the above cases even with a Notebook cooler(during summer). So practically, you'll end up being able to use you Lappy for gaming using just the onboard GPU by disabling the discrete option.

So choose accordingly, I've told you my practical experiences and they've not been good at all. HP G6 shuts down/resets within 30mins due to overheating.

i got to know about it and so did started this thread as wanted an alternative that part ! the two lenovo models i have mentioned are just July launch i think and deffer only in processor ! nothing else ! gaming is not that important part as we rarely play games now a days due to T.Y but rendering in after effect and converting videos are one of the priority on our task list and so will that be a con ?

still even is the heating issue only on amd part or equally as same as intel part ???

we are more in to the lenovo essential g series due to the specimens as no other lappy in market i think is offering Ram expansion to 16gb

You'll have to perform very thorough tests to check for overheating and a serious overheating problem usually does not appear until a month or so has passed.
I would suggest sticking with an Intel CPU Option + a Discrete GPU.

Best Of Luck, and let me know what you buy as even I'm looking for something similar :p .
