Laptops Lappy Proccy Broke !!

Well my friend was trying his ingenious ways of cleaning his laptop , and he though he'd pull out the heat sink[or the fan] to clean it , but to his surprise the processor also came along with it. . and he broke its pins.
So basically he has a lappy but no processor in it!!

What i want to ask is do Laptop processor come in separate packages too ??

If not . .what can be the best solution to this situation now ???
 
The only solution is go back to the vendor and ask him the price for replacement. But the vendor will tell you a price in which you can buy another new laptop. If you have somebody abroad (singapore,china) give him the specs. Probably you can get it from scrap over there.
 
BTW Did you check plugging in the processor back. The processor should work even if there are some pins missing. Check and let me know.
 
Which laptop? Company/model? Because if he pulled out the heat sink, it might be an older laptop. Some of those used desktop proccys, hence the large heatsinks ;) Those proccys have a habit of coming out with the heatsink, I cleaned one of those last month for a relative ;)

Check which one it was. If it was a desktop one then pretty easy to get a replacement i guess.

EDIT: The one I cleaned was a toshiba satellite series S255 something i think.

mobile P4? use google and try to figure out if its any diferent ;) You might be able to snag one from some laptop repair guy or someone dealing in junk laptops/parts :)
