Budget is 30k (can extend to 32-33k if need be)

Primary usage would be web surfing and the occasional movie. Its for dad for portable internet (with tata photon or netconnect thingies).

Screen should be as large as possible ..easy to view..weight isn't much of an issue but preferably not very heavy..

Graphics card is not a requirement as there will be almost no gaming...large keys are an added advatage..

System specs are also not much of a concern..but it should be easy to use and fast..

No particular preference to any brand..

Battery life is also not a great concern as it will not be used without charging for long..
Also please suggest a portable internet device which has decent enough speed and doesn't have connectivity issues..usage would be no more than 2 gb per month.

Also warranty is a concern..extendable to 3 years preferably..and if possible backlit keyboard..

^ Both have 1st generation arrandale i3 processors. Better stick to newer Sandy bridge i3 23xxM as they have much better integrated graphics and also consume lesser power.
 
There is an ASUS lappie for 31k from a distri in borivili here in mumbai. no os, but i5 2430, 2gb ram, 320gb hdd 5400rpm, 15.6" screen, 2yrs warranty.

had met this guy today who told me about this. now just have to find that scrap of paper where i wrote his contact details!
