1. Need a laptop between 28-30K (strict budget).
2. Usage: MS Office, Internet, CAD usage (only at times). Would be able to bear slow processor speed.
3. Excellent after sales service (in Surat)
4. Size/weight not a consideration but bigger screen would be preferred.

Your best option is the Acer Aspire 4530.

But if you want a faster processor like the Intel T5800 in that range, you will have to buy a Zenith laptop. The Zenith laptop's should'nt be too bad. The reviews of the Director Plus Ultra mention that it has good built quality. But the director Plus Ultra sells for Rs.37-41k. So at a glance, it probably would'nt be right to compare its build quality with one costing below Rs 30k.
 
If you have HCL service centers in your city , they have some good 30k offerings

get dell vostro A840. its Rs 29662 with 1yr on site warranty

specs:

c2d 5470 proc 1.6ghz

1gb ram

160 gb hdd.

weighs only 2.03kgs with 14 inch screen

its better to get this one with c2d.

ram n hdd can be upgraded any time buudy

so i wud say this is safely the best bet...

u cant compare dell with hcl. or acer with regards to after sales service

dell is wayyyyyyyyy better..
