Hi Friends,

I need your help on laptop decisions
i am bound to HP laptop (no other go, unless huge pref difference is there)
i am looking for a powerful one with good graphics to run maya and some graphic design stuff

in end i came down to two models
1) HP Pavilion dv6-1154TX .

I am using 1154tx. Pretty satisfied with it. Gaming is flawless on this machine.
Advantages of 1154tx over 1221tx
1) Processor
1154tx is having P8600 2.4 ghz which is definitely faster then T6400 2.0 ghz
2) GPU
1154tx comes with ATI mobility radeon HD4650 which is better then Nvidia M 9600GT

Also You are gonna work with Maya and stuff so you must have to consider Processor in account. And here also P8600 is best choice in these two. Also P series of intel proccys is energy efficient series, specially for laptops:p (battery eaters also, both of your options)

Advantages of 1221tx over 1154tx
1) Blu ray
1221 tx is coming with BD-R DVD+-RW while 1154tx is coming with DVD+-RW. So If you wanna watch bluray then go with 1221tx:bleh:

If you are not restricted to game, then you should consider some other professional laptops also.
I have not used 1154tx for graphics design, Maya or some other S/W like 3D MAx or Photoshop. But IMO It would fulfill your needs for the same without any hassle.

Final word: From these two laptops definitely GO WITH 1154tx. It will surely perform better then 1221tx.
 
i will update on price once negotiation starts,

whats offered is around 64, it may come down.

please be free to suggest other models also (but HP only), i am not closed to above 2 models, but these are the only 2 ones i could find for sale in india.
 
There is no better model available in India then 1154tx especially in pavilion series.

And Especially for gaming/entertainment laptop in 60-65K budget overall.

The price quote what you got seems to be reasonable. 64K including VAT/FAT?

Tell me your budget.
 
budjet will be 70-75 k
dealer is a guy knows to me so prices will be / should be less than wats mentioned in website.

in that way i will be able to afford laptops HP sells for 80k. (i am assuming) , appart from tablet PC i couldnt find anything else from sheet he send to me.

Ok, so cant go for Professional series, Coz good configs start from 100K only.

There is One Model Asus G50v. But don't know the price.

Also, Significant difference between 1154tx and Asus G50v is only GPU.

Asus G50v comes with Nvidia GeForce 9700M GT which is good the ATI HD 4650.

Some Model is there in MSI also with ATI mobility Radeon HD4850. But don't know about it more.

If you wanna stick to HP only, GO with 1154tx. IT's A MEAN MACHINE. I purchased in 66K before 1 month. So 62-64K would be a good deal. Whatever amount remains in your pocket, buy some accessories like Additional Warranty, Mouse, Speakers , blah blah...

OR SAVE the remaining amount for Future.
