I've decided to sell off my Desktop RIG to get a Laptop.

Here are my requirements:

1. Screen size 15" minimum

2. Processor 2nd gen i5 minimum (Performance is the top priority, should be best bang for buck in Performance department)

3. RAM - 3GB minimum

4. Good durability and Service

if possible:

Solid State Drive (But I've heard there is no real performance benefit in using a SSD ?)

Dont care about:

Battery Life

Screen Quality

Portability

Speakers/Accessories

Usage:

Office work 80% of the time and heavy internet browsing simultaneously with several social apps. Rest of the 20% would be Photoshop work, Encoding videos.

*Can stretch budget to 40K if needed

You are right on Lenovo laptop 560, so I have deleted it from my list. I believe I suggested both i5-480M and i5-2410M because for normal laptop user both are good. Unless OP is intending to overclock the CPU going with 480M or 2410M is ok. IMHO for normal user the performance is not that much to notice the difference.

Yes I understand that 2410 is better than 480M by 10% and the sandy bridge is built for gaming, better turbo boost technology 2.0 compared to 1.0 in 480M. But only looking at requirements and how it was being for normal usage, I suggested both 480M and 2410M

Acer 5750G @ 39.8k. Seems to offer the best performance to price ratio near your budget, at least on paper. Out of stock in flipkart right now, but you should be able to find it in shops, maybe even at a lower rate in Lamington Road (one of my friends bought an Aspire 5742G with similar specs, but 1st gen i5 at 37k a couple of months ago).

Or, Asus K53SC @ 36.5k

Comes with a weaker GPU and no OS, compared to the Acer, but you can expect a more premium build quality (considering the manufacturer).

In other aspects, the Acer has a 500GB HDD while this one has a 6400GB one, and the Acer has USB 3.0 ports while this one has 2.0 only.

I'm zeroed in on the Acer 5750G [2nd Gen i5 2.3Ghz, 4 GB DDR3 (upto 8 Gb),LED 1366x768, Nvidia GT 540M, 5400RPM 500 GB, Battery Upto 5 Hours, 7 Home Premium, USB 3.0]

I'd get it under 40K from Lamington Road etc it seem so.

The only problem is, I heard it has heating issues ? can anybody tell me how serious is this ? it could be a dealbreaker (most of the reviewers didnt talk about this however)

If no gaming then avoid laptops with a discrete GPU's. The 575x has the same design from 20k-40k. Build is not worth of a 40k machine.

I would still say choose between the Inspiron 15R or Z570. If Acer then consider the TimelineX series.
