Laptops laptop for 55K

I am planning to get a laptop, some suggestion needed,

Budget:55,000 - 60,000 Rs

Requirement:15inch (i dont know if i can get 17"in that budget,but 17 would be better) 1.6-2Ghz and 2gb ram, and a dvd writer, 80Gb HDD and does all lappy come with preinstalled vista nowadays or they even sell without OS.

I dont play games, but i do make home movies and edit them on my desktop(1.6ghz P4, 128RDRAM,) So looking for a lappy which can do that job too.

So please offer some advice.
 
You can customise the Dell Inspiron 6400 for around that much. Though i dunno you'll get 2gig of ram in that budget. Also look at the Dell 640M
 
Hmm..

You should look at the HP 6226 series also. Comes for around 57k for a 1.66Ghz C2D, 1GB RAM, 120GB HDD, GeForce 7400 gfx and a 15.4" screen. Plus, I loooove the way the HP looks when compared to the white-bumper Dells. :)

Of course, you could also check out the Sony Vaios for sheer beauty. :D
 
^ Well HP look better.. But see,he can customise the Dell. He doesn need the Gfx card so can neglect that etc.. Save n spend as n where he likes :)
 
There is a hp model in dv9200 series. It retails for around 65k
has 17 inch screen and nvidia 7600 gpu. The only problem is that the processor is t5200 rather weak compared to others in c2d range.
Still worth a look. .
