^Couldn't find a review from a decent site for the G4.

For your usage it doesnt matter whether its the i3 or i5.

So i would suggest the better built one any day for such requirements.

Ya you are right. I will mostly go with the Probook. Getting it a bit cheaper locally but then without the Carry Case and Anti Virus subscription. My local dealer is offering a free HP Backpack instead but I would prefer a Carry Case.

Before going ahead, kindly check HP A.S.S. My experience with HP in Chandigarh is quite bad. Moreover, the DV6000 constant motherboard issues just added fuel to the fire.

No other brands like Asus offering similar options?

Not sure how good it is here. But it should definitely be as good as others except for Dell maybe. I really wish Dell had something in this price range. I had almost decided on buying the new Vostro V131 but then Dell has priced it 50K and it has a 1 month delivery time. Other thing is it doesn't have an optical drive.

I plan to buy the HP Accidental Damage Protection also for this Probook if its available here.

Even my experience with HP was pretty bad but probooks are well built, much better than dv6 series.

Ya. Everyone is saying they are very well built. Even my dealer here was saying they are very rugged and can handle a lot of abuse.

I finally bought the HP Probook 4430S (DOS) locally for 33K. It is very well built. The battery life is decent but the touchpad isn't that great. Everything else is fine. I would recommend this machine to anybody who has similar requirements.
