laptop for hd movie under 25000 for Parents (Samsung vs dell vs Asus)

Please answer the following questions for others to help you out better.

  • What's your Budget? 25k
  • What will be your primary usage for the notebook be?
  • [font=arial, sans-serif]lots of Web Surfing, MS office, Skype and music, ,lots of movies[/font]

  • What size and weight considerations do you have? 15.6 inch
  • Any brand that you prefer, or any brand that you detest?
  • dell, samsung,lenovo, Asus(not sure but i read good reviews abt Asus on this forum)
  • No Toshiba, HP
  • Don't care about OS as i will load it with XP (or may be 7 basic)
  • HDMI would be a plus

Both the ASUS model mentioned above have Intel HD Graphics 3000.

So the main diff is that:

X54H-SX137D @ 24735 has 2.2GHz CPU but no USB3.0 and 500GB HDD

X54H-SX227D @ 24219 has 2.1GHz CPU but one USB3.0 and 320GB HDD
 
i would go for the one with usb 3.0 for future proofing. also its cheaper. the 0.1 ghz makes very little difference. hdd can be upgraded. don't know about asus service though. build quality is above average for this type of notebooks.
 
ASUS is a very good brand for notebooks.. its just not very popular in India yet.. it is a very highly popular and highly sold brand in the US and one of the top preferences with gaming enthusiasts along with alienware...
