Storage Solutions Laptop hard drive not showing up!!

Hi friends,
on one of my friends laptop, he tried to install a new OS and formatted the drive which has the old OS
after completion the formatting it has restarted and after that when we tried to switch on the lappy its not booting.
so we tried to install a new OS(windows 7) after loading of windows files is completed it is not showing any storage drives or devices to select
and i tried with vista dvd also but problem is same here

and later i booted with xp cd after loading all the drivers it is giving a blue screen error stating some memory error or hard rive corrupted.

guyz plz help us with this!!
what will be the problem???
 
does your laptop needs raid drivers or has the manufacturer supplied a floppy disk for the harddisk used for settings up with new os?
 
no need of any floppy disk i think!!!

his laptop dont have a floppy drive also!!

he is installing OS without any problems before!

this is the first he is facing this problem
 
Check the HDD on a desktop.. laptop SATA HDD's have same connectors...

If its detected then slipstream the chipset RAID driver (Intel Matrix Storage Driver) into XP & create a bootable disc using nLite... Then you can install the OS...
