Description if any: Taken out of dead laptop which is around 3.5 years old. Out of warranty but works fine. Only HDD is in deal, no cables.

Thanks for the PM and the question raised about UDMA CRC error count.

UDMA CRC error count the number of errors occurred during data transfer between HDD and SATA interface. Possible causes can be bad HDD, bad SATA cable or failing SATA controller itself. Here in my case the dying motherboard was the problem.

For assurance, I ran the read & write checks with HDD on my PC and all the results are posted. After that I formatted entire HDD and ran CHKDSK and same result is there that HDD is good.
