I may be planning to buy an internal HDD for my laptop. This is after hitachi people told me that i need to contact Toshiba and Toshiba guys told me that the laptop as whole is covered in 1 year warranty and hence the same applies to HDD. They told that i need to show the laptop to their service center which may cost max 1200 rupees and if i need HDD replacement then i need to buy a new one and no RMA can be done.

So instead of spending 1k+ just for that toshiba guy to tell me that i need a replacement, i better buy a HDD of my own and fit inside my laptop.

I have absolutely no clue about HDD rates for 2.5" laptop ones and from where to buy.

Please suggest me something on this front.

Also planning to rip apart my hitachi neso 320 GB which has fewer bad sectors and if that has a normal 2.5" HDD then will probably put that in laptop. Not sure though.

No need ripping the external one. Buy a new 2.5" hard disk from those websites or TE dealers and you would be good to go.

I got a new Seagate Momentus 5400.6 500GB for ~ 2.7k from dvdstoredelhi couple of months back. Carries 3 years warranty from Seagate.
Street prices for Seagate Momentus 5400.6 are,
250GB ~ 1.9k
320GB ~ 2.15k
500GB ~ 2.7k

@ggt and others

Can you suggest exactly as to where i can order. Checked primeabgb and they have some seagate one. Going to their shop and buying wont decrease the price much i think.

Any other options.
