The new lenovo s400 that i just got has a stupid problem that i realized only after i got the laptop. The layout is as follows

Please check the pic taken from top and roll over the same to magnify.

So here the keys F1 to F12 are in RED and the multimedia keys over it are in WHITE so when hot keys are enabled in BIOS, i can use the FX (where X is a number) key to say mute volume or change brightness.
If i want to use the F specific function then i need to press the Fn+ FX key which is not a normal way i work.
So i turn off the hotkeys in BIOS and now the behaviour is reversed and the F1.F12 operate as normal function keys without i needing to press the Fn key and when i need to say increase brightness i will press Fn+FX key and this is how it always has been for me.
All good till here and i keep this setting as it is to make function keys work normally.

But the downside of this is the right side keys of HOME, END, PGUP, PGDN.
These are in WHITE and the ones like Break, insert etc are in RED and since the did the above thing, when only pressing the key, the RED keys are activated which means the HOME.END etc do not work as expected and i need to press Fn+Home to get the HOME functionality to work.

Anyway to fix this thing that my F1....F12 keys work as expected without any additonal keys and also the HOME, END etc too ?

Lenovo keyboard designer really fcked up with this. Dumb implementation.

I tried that and one more software but it seems not to work. Till that time i will need to train my dad to press Fn every time he wants to use one of those 4 keys.
