Laptop / Netbook for ~ 20 K from Singapore? Will it be cheaper?

1. What's your Budget?

Ans: ~ 20 K

2. What will be your primary usage for the notebook be?

Ans: Word, Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator /Indesign, Web Surfing

3. What size and weight considerations do you have?

Ans: 10 - 12', wt. < 2 Kg



4. Any brand that you prefer, or any brand that you detest?

Ans: No preference. Need it to work properly for 1-2 years



5. Any other considerations?

Ans: Should be decently sturdy. Don't mind a second hand / refurbished system either, if it's in good state.

I can get it from Singapore, so can you suggest places where I should look, and recommend models?

As per your requirements, I think Asus 1215B will suit you well.

I will need an optical drive too. Any E250 based laptops which are good and have an optical drive. Asus 1215B has all other features, but no optical drive

Also - did I mention that a friend can get the laptop from Singapore? So any suggestions? I have heard Sim Lim Square, Mustafa Mall and Naranjan Electronics.
