Laptops Laptop overheating when connected to dock

Guide
I have below laptop and thunderbolt dock from dell

Laptop: Latitude 7430 (i7)
Dock: Dell WD19TB

My laptop heats a lot (stays around 100 degeress), especially when on zoom calls. Strange thing is, the heating issue is not there when dock is disconnected.

What I've tried without any fix.
  1. Replaced thermal paste with Gelid extreme.
  2. Kept power cable also plugged in, this seems to lower the temps a bit, but not a permanent solution since whole purpose of getting the dock was to keep the desk wire free.

Seems its a global issue since a decade and dell ha no interest to resolve this very basic yet critical issue...

Agree that it's a global issue, wanted to get some opinions from fellow TE members.

Adding some clarifications against the "airflow blockage" issue mentioned above:
  1. My docking station is far from laptop so there is no chance of docking station blocking the air.
  2. Laptop is on a stand and there is ample airflow under it.

My Dell 5430 laptop with i7 12th gen cpu heats up in general usage, without dock.
Applied all latest drivers. Kept it at low power use mod, etc. and working with it.

As for dock, can you try a different make / model without airflow block issue.
