  • What's your Budget? (e.g. >30K, not more than 50K etc.) Under 80 k
  • What will be your primary usage for the notebook be? (e.g. web surfing/office apps/Casual Gaming) - Casual Gaming / College purposes (not IT related)
  • What size and weight considerations do you have? (e.g. Do you want a 17" desktop replacement or you want an ultraportable 12" or something in between) - Desktop replacement
  • Any brand that you prefer, or any brand that you detest? (e.g some would prefer to stay away from Acer or Dell) - None
  • Any other considerations? (e.g Battery life; Widescreen/non-widescreen; Glossy/Matte screen etc.) - None really.

The below image is the choices the person interested in the laptop has narrowed it down to. What would you recommend. Does not have to be any of these choices :) .

    Thanks in advance.

None of these are good enough, trust. Go either for LOQ Gen 8 or LOQ Gen 9 from Lenovo's website.
https://www.lenovo.com/in/en/configurator/cto/index.html?bundleId=82XTCTO1WWIN1 (you can have 1 TB ssd for 2k more)

Specs:
CPU - Ryzen 5 7640HS (better than intel's 12th gen processors by a mile in battery life, power draw, cooling and efficiency)
GPU - RTX 4060 (Avoid 4050 and 3050 at all costs)
RAM - 16gb DDR5 at 5600Mhz (soldered so you can't upgrade in the future)
Display - 144Hz 45% ntsc panel (compromise but worth it)
Webcam - 1080p
Keyboard - RGB
Wifi - 6
Battery - 60WH (if you disable the external gpu for college then this can easily last 5-6 hours of normal usage)

At the moment this costs outright 88000 but
Coupons:
UNBOX35
- 3.5k off (so now it's 84.5k)
Student discount code - 7% off (so now it's 78585)
Credit Card Cashback on all cards - 10% off (so now it's 70,727)
+ Free Laptop Bag if you care for it so you'd be paying 70k for a well built laptop (better than victus, nitro), a faster cpu, a better gpu, faster ram and overall better support.

The LOQ Gen 9 is similarly specced but a newer 8th gen Ryzen 7 for the same price but with a 4050 instead so it's not worth it considering Ryzen 7th gen to 8th gen is not a big jump at all.

I would suggest buying this LOQ Gen 8 as it's a proper deal which doesn't occur often, else you can wait for AMDs Zen 5 CPUs to launch but that might exceed the 80k budget and stretch to 90k. Overall this is the best at the moment.

Great find, I recommend getting the 3 year warranty & ADP upgrade for 3k + upgrade SSD to 1TB for 2k extra. 3 weeks of waiting is ok-ish vs 2 months of waiting at times from Lenovo.
