Hi all,
My friend in pune needs to get his DELL INSPIRON 1420 repaired in Pune. He lives in Aundh and a nearby TRUSTED and budget laptop repair shop would be good.
Btw, this is the problem with the laptop currently being faced:
The laptop was working fine till yesterday, but used to overheat from one end (suspecting the GPU overheating).
Yesterday, he turned on the laptop, it worked fine and then rebooted while browsing in windows.
Then it booted but with artifacts/lines scattered all over the screen. It managed to reach safe mode screen but still some lines were there.
Upon touching laptop base, it was noticed again that one corner is overheating. Hence he turned the laptop OFF.
What i suspect: In feb, we got the laptop serviced from a local center in Chandigarh. It could be possible that they used a cheap thermal paste or maybe none, after cleaning that laptop. Hence now the laptop is overheating in these Hot summers.
My Questions:
1. Could it be a software issue?
2. Can the problem go away if he starts using a laptop cooler now?
3. Which place in pune is cheap and good for re-application of thermal paste in vital heatsinks of the laptop.
4. If GPU has been damaged, what can he do now?
