Laptops Laptop replacement LCD screen ?

A friend of mine has this laptop that apparently has a crack in its screen (underneath the glass surface). The liquid crystals are oozing out from that crack and spreading slowly.

Had told him there's no way he can repair the screen. However there should be a possibility of replacing the screen right? Am i right? And if so .. where do we look for such replacement screens?

The brand is some unheard of make bought somewhere in south-east asia, but is a standard 15" screen.

It would be very hard to find and even if u find it, its going to be very expensive, can charge u anywhere between 8-10k

go down to ritchie, there are a couple of laptop repair shops who stock replacement screens (try the one opposite Nakoda plaza)

a 15" XGA replacement should be 10-12K

Had guessed that it would be approx ~10k as well. Just needed a confirmation of the price.

Unfortunately it turns out his laptop is pretty ancient, so i've advised him that a new laptop - even a dirt cheap budget one - would be a more worthwhile investment. If at all he needs to, have asked him to check Ritchie street - thanks Superczar!
