Laptop restart problem

i have a compaq c700 laptop.It has started giving a problem since a month-it keeps on restarting itself and sometimes doesnt even start.I called up the customer assistance and was told that my HD is faulty. I have replaced my Hard disk with a new one ,but it did not help. PLZ help ASAP
 
Can you be more detail? Like does it restart always or sometimes? Also does is restart when you do a particular thing or just randomly?

Check your RAM modules if they are loose or as such. Also try re-installing your OS.
 
Can you elaborate more . . . ? like does it give any error message while restarting or something or like BSOD or what .
Try checking your ram once might be lose or something
