I have a Toshiba laptop, with 2 restoration discs; unfortunately, my DVD drive isn't working right now. Is there any way to copy the CDs to a USB drive and then boot using the USB drives?

Not exactly sure of that...but if you have a restore partition you can boot up through it and probably things will work out.

The best and fastest way currently would be to buy a 5.5" external enclosure and borrow / buy a dvd-r/rw and connect it to USB and boot using the USB option .........

u would not be able to copy the data onto the usb pen drive and boot from it , cause the USB would not have a boot sector to pickup when u ask the laptop to boot from the usb option...

it might just be possible... googled for "windows recovery boot usb" gave some interesting-looking links, although im not sure how (more googling?) you would specifically boot the toshiba recovery images...

The problem is, this is a lot more complicated than just installing Windows from a USB drive because the files on the recovery discs are a tad strange.
