Laptops Laptop Screen problem

My friend's laptop's screen is shaking a lot and also too many lines are coming on it with makes it impossible to read or to even shut it down. Laptop is IBM R40.

So what can be the possible faults in it.
According to me the wire connecting screen to motherboard needs replacement. Still I want opinions from u guys. Kindly help me in repairing it. Also let me know where can i find its spare parts like the wire i'm talking about. Also if any of our precious dealers deals in its spare parts then do let me know.

i think u have to change lcd of yur lappy.... my vaio was having same pbl of lines.... so sony guys replaced my screen.... take it to any computer guy and ask for the main pbl....

Don't try repairing lappy's urself, rather if its under warranty replace/repair it from service center otherwise contact them n get it repaired by paying a nominal fee.

Ohh ok....!! May be its the wire as u said or the LCD itself or may the mobo or the IGP issue.

It is more than 2 yr old so no warranty, and i wanna repair it myself. hyeah:
