Laptops laptop suggestions

recently my desktop stopped working, I am guessing its dead... and even if it is reparable I really don't want to spend on it ... useless config ....
Now I am looking for a new laptop
something which is well suited to run all Os's (especially linux) has a graphics card that facilitates gaming( won't be doing too much of gaming) but still I should be able to play the games that are being released ...
i think i would want 8gb ram, 640gb hdd
probably i5 processor
which brand is best ???
max cost shouldn't exceeed 70k

what abt gfx card??? does it ship with an nvidia card or does that cost more?

reviews suggest it gets over heated and is not suitable for gaming

if u are going to use the laptop as desktop replacement then its complete waste of money... At that price u can buy a killer i7 rig....

think bout it... If u really want to go with a laptop den buy Dell studio xps 16...

I need a laptop only but at times it should facilitate some gaming !! :p

Generally which company's laptop is best?

Dell or Hp ???

Now as for ur requirement, I would suggest u to have a look at this thread: Here comes the Sony Vaio E series

Theres also Sony Vaio VPCCW26FG...its a very good laptop...has many satisfied users and with positive feedback..

Wouldn't recommend DELL for now, as it doesn't have good enough graphic card...

Need some more info to help u better:

-Where are you planning to buy it from? India or US..

-What screen size?

I am thinking desktop will be a better buy !!

suggestions on that ???

well i don't want keyboard,mouse,monitor,speakers,dvd ram,hdd

all i want is a Motherboard,GPU,Ram,processor,cabinet and coolers

which is the best and now the money limit is 40k

sorry once again ... my mind is very unstable ... some part of it is saying go for laptop and other part to go for desktop .... I am in BIG time dilemma !!
 
Answer these questions

1. Do you have budget constraints ?
Desktops are financially more economical

2. Where do you live ?
With Parents ? Alone ? Hostel ?
If you dont live at home portability may become a priority to you .

3. What kind of games do you play ?
Many of the current Gen high graphic games ? MMORGs ? Browser games ?
The latter 2 can be played in laptops easily .

4. Do you have plans for an upgrade in the near future ?
Desktop scores over laptop on the upgrade-bility index

5. Do you have to travel ?
Portability = laptop

6. Are you a professional or amateur animator ?
If so only a Desktop can fulfill your system requirements

7. when you sit before a PC what takes up most of your time ? Internet work or games ?

Think along these lines
