Laptops Laptop to Philip 29" crt problem - HELP!!!

Hi Guys,

I am trying to get the s-video output from a IBM T24 lapptop to a philips 29" with pixelplus crt

I am using a s-video to s-video 4 pin cable.

The problem is simple...i just can see anything in the tv after i connect the lappy to it.

i tried the "Fn + F7" function in the lapy to switch views and nothing worked. also tried the display settings to swicth to tv display and even that didnt work.

Also have a confusion on which channel actually displays s-video-in in a philips tv.
Please guys...help me out here
 
You probably need to create a new scheme in the Fn F7 screen.

Press Fn + F7 --> on the black screen click on Manage Schemes --> New... --> Choose Television as the option of external display .. rest of the setting are self explanatory.

Once you create this scheme, switch to this scheme when you press Fn F7 while connected to the TV with S-Video cable, you should be all set with the video, remember you will need another cable for audio.
 
I tried adding one more scheme but the svideo to svideo cable gave no display.

Finally i got the cable changed to s video to a rca cable and it worked.

even though it gives decent quality i am still wondering what went wrong in the svideo to svideo cable.
 
Well, maybe the cable or the s-video in socket wasn't working.

The quality will depend on the type of cable you're using, it would be better if it is component and slightly reduced if it's composite. What kind of cable are you using in your current working setup?
