Please suggest me the latest Laptop options that I have under 20k. This is going to be used by my aunt for running some Telugu authoring software to create docuemnts and print it with an inkjet printer that she already has. No other requirement.

She has been using a age old desktop (10 year old) which has conked off and this laptop is to replace that. She doesn't even have internet access currently, but might get it in future.

The only requirement is reliability and ability to run her software with decent performance. She will be using it for next 5 years or more (as long as she can to tell more specific).

Need to be able to install Windows 7.

I have done some research yesterday and most of the laptops in this range seem to have problems with driver availability for Windows 7. So I am not sure buying a laptop is an option any more. There is now way in hell they will be able to learn or get used to the Windows 8.x. :)

Also looked at the Intel NUC kits, but disappointed to find that they too have the same problem. Need to look at some other alternatives.

Most Asus one are available in this range with a Celeron dual core. More than enough for office work and webbrowsing. 2gb ram etc. Some dont come with dvd rom and webcam, so check that in the details.

Drivers you'l find on Asus website from what i read in reviews. I think they also have extended warranty.

Ps- Dont get the amd ones.

The Intel NUC boxes use standard stuff - Intel chipsets, Intel ethernet, Intel audio; will definitely have Win 7 drivers. For laptops, the only tricky bit will be if they're using hybrid graphics, whose drivers only the laptop manufacturer usually has, otherwise every component will have drivers from their respective manufacturer.

Anyway, I meant laptops with Windows OEM licenses tend to drive up the cost. The ones at 20k tend to be without an OS.
