31-40k laptop under 40000 with expandable RAM

Btw the op should know that cpu is based on zen-3 architecture which came out 5 years ago.
My experience seems to be better with respect to E series. We have found them to be much much better than the consumer grade stuff. I have used all of them, its the relative cost as well that you need to factor in also. Will the E series take abuse like the others - no. But will be be reliable workhorses for those not trying to kill the laptops? Yes.
That's agreeable.
E series in 30-40k budget might be better than most new laptops found at that price range.
But if given the option to get T or the X series ThinkPad or a E series one, ideally you should go for T or the X series.

I have used maybe a dozen or more laptops (you name it, have used it), and currently am using a top of the line 7000 series AMD Thinkpad Z13g2. Have the E, T and X series as well with me. Have a older Zbook instead of P series. So yeah, I am pretty sure.
Would you recommend a Thinkpad E series over a Lenovo Ideapad and Yoga series?

No one wants to buy refurbished laptops as much as possible. This is the first issue.

Secondly, as an example T480 with i7 8th gen vs a E14 with R3 7330u - its a no brainer to take the E14.

Given the option comment - dunno whom you are fooling.

Its not that simple

looking at price to price comparison, the Thinkpad is better anyday.

But it wont be an apples to apples comparison. You may get a R7 in the ideapad, while a R5 in the thinkpad.

You're making a lot of assumptions there.

I was pointing out the fact that it's a zen 3 cpu.
For those who don't understand, watch the ltt video i liked.
To ones who are unaware might be fooled thinking it's a zen 4 cpu, while being a zen 3.
The shit and naming system really should change.

And if you are comparing, use laptops with matching prices, new or old.

My bad, but what I wanted to ask you was leaving the GPU and CPU specs aside, purely based on build quality of keyboard and rest of the body, whose build quality is best according to you - Thinkpad, Yoga or Ideapad?

Nopes.

Yes. Its a Zen 3. But its what you get for the most part. i3 12th gen is at least 10K more. Usually 42K

If anyone is thinking its a Zen 4 CPU, god help them. These rebranding shenanigans are absolutely hair pulling.

Agreed, I am comparing a T480 i7 8th gen costing about 25K to an R3 7330U E14 costing around 33K (lesser with discounts plus CB). Still the 7330U will be way better than that ancient i7.

Entry level E14 will be better than say Ideapad 1 or similar Yoga

As you go higher up the variants, the build quality will be great on all but the prices will be skewed with the Thinkpads costing more.

For example, I am using a TP Z13 G2 R7 7840U - and at a glance, I cannot see much difference between this and a Yoga 9 Ultra 5 model (a friend had brought his), with the exception of keys. Build quality is superb on the Yoga.
The fun part is that no new TP laptop will come in OPs budget of 40K, let alone even if he increases his budget by 50%
