Laptops Laptop with discrete gfx

I have decided to buy a laptop after a long time.

My requirements:
1. Should have a better gfx card than the intel onboards.
2. Should cost at max 40k.
3. Any cpu (dual core) ~2Ghz will do. ~2MB l2 should be fine.
4. RAM 2 GB or more.
5. Screen size does not matter but I would prefer at most a 15'4".

All this becaus I have a good desktop, and I want the lappy for just the mobility. Why I need discrete gfx? Coz I'll game, not necessarily the newest releases, but dx9 games and early dx10 games.

My choices:
1. Asus N10J.
Newegg.com - ASUS N10 Series N10J-A2 Intel Atom N270(1.60GHz) 10.2" WSVGA 2GB Memory 320GB HDD Netbook - Netbooks
10'2'' incher, Nvidia 9300M, intel atom. Fits my bill the best, but it is not available in India. Asus gives 2 yrs international warranty but getting it shipped via KMD even is exceeding my budget by a large extent. :(

2. Acer Aspire 4530.
Acer Aspire 4530 Notebook Technical Specifications | Notebook Drivers
The cheapest bargain in the market for a discrete gfx. Comes with Nvidia 9100M and athlon x2 1.9Ghz. Got a quote of 28K all inclusive with 1 GB ram from S P Road, is still a good deal with a ram upgrade @1k/GB.

3. Benq Joybook S41.
BenQ India - Computing
Comes with Nvidia 8600M, 2Ghz Core 2 duo. Got a quote of ~35K from SP Road.

4. Dell Studio 15.
With ATI RADEON 4570 ~45K. Out of budget.

5. HP even more expensive than dell.

So after careful consideration I have decided to go for Benq. Seems to be a good config at a good price. Benq gives 1 yr international warranty. Have no idea about how it actually is.

Pleas post ur comments/suggestions, experiences with Benq.

Thanks in advance.

Careful, are you sure the 9100M, 8600M are not on board nvidia chips and "discrete"... I thought the discrete were numbered without the "M" in them... aren't the real ones with "GT" in the model numbers? Otherwise I'd say get the Acer Aspire 4530 :)

Well u saw all the MNC's offerings, did u checked Indian brands too our u against them?
Zenith, HCL and Tata are selling same laptop with minor price differences.
4GB 667MHz RAM
320GB HDD 5400 RPM
9600GSM 512MB DDR2
Processor options are T6400(2GHz 2MB Cache 800MHz FSB) and P8400(2.26GHz 3MB Cache 1066MHz FSB) :cool2:

^^ thanks for the suggestion but the HCL ones come with only 8200M, the zenith and tata ones are same but they cost ~43K so they are kind of out of budget.

Yaar you can get the zenith one with T6400 processor..thats for 38k all inclusive! everything else is same..i.e. 4 gb ram, geforce 9600 :hap2:
go for it.. :)

The benq seems a good option :)

@vishalrao: Nothing like that. ALL laptop parts are labelled with an M at the end. The 8600 is discrete graphics.

I recently saw a rebadged zenith being sold at croma for approx 41k all inclusive.

Specs:

T 6400

4 GB RAM

nVidia 9600m GS 512MB

Vista Home Premium

Free Cannon AIO.

Seemed like a good deal.

The laptop itself was fairly run of the mill to look at... decent build quality and a unassuming simple design. The only downer is the "Croma" branding.

OK, sounds right. My HP has a onboard "GeForce Go 6150M" so I guess the keyword to look out for is the "Go"... but I would still be cautious and double check, what with nvidia playing the model numbering game...

You can definately go for the Zenith/Croma lappies. All users say that it has good performance and sturdy build quality.
