Planning to buy a MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum this weekend, so before taking the plunge wanted to confirm if there are any new revisions/versions of the board to look out for.

Also will try to change my CM 430W 20 Pin to a 24 Pin PSU.....courtesy of Computer Empire (keeping my fingers crossed)......  If I cannot change the PSU, I will be connecting the 20 pin PSU to the 24 pin motherboard. So this is the way i'll be connecting the connector. Is it the right way ?

Why dont you buy Kidoman's, hes at the latest BIOS. So itll be better for you to overclock.

Hes selling it at an awesome prices too.

Since I won't be going SLI and MSI strictly says:

MSI Reminds You...
• Both power connectors, JPWR1 (24 Pin) & JPWR2 (4 Pin, for CPU Power ) must be attached to this model to ensure operation of the Mainboard.
• A Power Supply of 450 watts, or above, is highly recommended for system stability.
• ATX 12V power connection should be 18A or greater.
• For this model, you must use a Power Supply which has a -5V pin supply.

and plus there is always the satisfaction of buying something new.....:ohyeah: :ohyeah: :ohyeah:

Thats just stupid in you part then, kido's 2 month old MSI K8N Neo4 SLI Platinum is going for 9k :bleh:

I do advise you to buy it. I do belive it has a few better features too..

Well I have sent him a PM...waiting for his response ;) . The only thing that is bothering me is my 20 pin CM 430W PSU, I am afraid I might fry my other components.

BTW, any idea where kidoman is located ?

Hes at Bhubaneshwar, Orissa.

I dont think shipping will be a problem :bleh:...

Anyways, dont need to be worried... Just use the 20Pin, doesnt matter, unless youll SLi.

@ SS: Yep, the way you've placed the connector in the pic is the right way. Anyway there's no need to worry about placing it wrongly, cause the shape/placement of the pin-holders on the connector (a mix of square and hexagon shapes if you look carefully) is such that the connector will not go in if its not correctly aligned.

BTW, if you're using a 20pin PSU, plug in just the 20-pin connector - do NOT use a 20 to 24 pin convertor cable. I've mentioned this many times - the convertors were designed for downgrading a 24-pin PSU to work with a 20-pin motherboard, not the other way round !!
