Folks,

Brief:

1. Not worried about sound too much at the moment. Later its going to go through SPDIF interfacing amplifier (WAF at this moment : 0, lets see if I can change that.)
2. It will be driven through 9600 GT, hence I am really interested in display that shows pixel for a pixel, no smoothing, sharp as it can be.
3. Plasma is a no-no, cause the living room is very well lit, it can't be changed.
4. Resolution: Full HD.

I am personally in favor of : LA40A610.

Let me know your advice, makes sense to wait till diwali? Any other model? Not interested in Bravia, as I said earlier, I want a pixel for pixel, a shade for a shade, no processing on that in the LCD.

Thanks
~LT

I think you can siable the Bravia engine if u want to. If u are not gonna need it, then u sould go in for a Samsung, since they are the same planel.

Global prices are falling for larger Full HD screens. So prices will fall further till Diwali and even more till christmas  endless

You sud try to get a 100Hz screen. The samsung u linked is not 100Hz, but most 100hz screens are 47"+

i think the bravia does have 1:1 pixel maping, but it will apply bravia engine processing,i found the image far better in my sony lcd then my viewsonic lcd monitor.

from what i have seen samsung applies more processing and looks less natural.
also sony produces 10% more contrast and as the least input lag 10ms edging out the samsung which is around 30ms. so sony again is good for gaming.

Hmm 100Hz, how does it improve the viewing exp? In fast speed motions?
